When I put my wheelie bars on, the shock manufacturer told me to avoid the spring loaded type. I hit the bars pretty hard too, so I just raised them higher and that has worked really well for me. It either doesn't go high enough to hit them at all on some tracks, or it hits them much softer if it does go that high.
Your car looks great by the way, can you give up some info on it?
Your car is very nice! Nice launch! My motor is a 498 with Indy-1 heads! It has a flat tappet cam with 630-650 lift! Mine is a ladder bar car!
I run almost the same motor in my car...but its 4 link and I dont even pull the fronts on a 1.32 60ft...BTW..no wheelie bars !!!...but your question is about wheelie bars...stay unsprung...the less amount of springs you have the less headache you have....try controling the wheelstands by limitng the front end travel...sounds like you could pick up some 60ft by working on the front end more.
Thanks for the info!! I think i will try the front end limiter route first! I just don't want to kill the wheelies too much! That's my favorite part of the run!
I understand the wheelstands are cool...but they can also kill consistancey....thats always a debate on here...sky it...or hook it....whatever the person chooses to do.... ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbs.gif)

yes, the car would leave so hard off the trans break it would just un load the tires when it got on the bars. this guy doesnt want to do big wheel stands. the front i also limited and put a set of AFco Big Gun rear double adjustable shocks on the rear. i will keep you posted on how the car leaves when we hit the track with it.
Bob
Bob have you run the car with the front end limited?? If so did it kill the wheelie at all?

Yes I am, liked it so much I have owned that car twice. We spoke sometime ago, I guess just after you broke a ladder bar. John
