Limited info that isn’t on the auction. Unknown engine builder. It’s a 66 block. Guy got torqued about giving the full vin. My best guesses based on that blurry view didn’t yield anything.
I explained that if a car hasn’t been through shakedown, it’s a big risk. He didn’t seem to understand the concern on that or when I explained I might score some docs or pieces if I had the full vin.

Dude is asking over 100k for a unfinished car and like mentioned limited pics. Then sketchy on the actual vin.... no tag,no sheet.... might be a nice car but might be nice for someone else to take the risk.
Where is the rust free body pics in its org. red?

It looks R4 to me.
I was unimpressed with the behavior and I begin backing away when I see it. Obviously not an “must sell,” so why put that out there? Then the rest of the antics. Eventually I walk, as always, because I approach every deal with that on the table. Rule one is you get burned when you aren’t willing to do that and these are always optional purchases.
Curious on the numbers you guys arrive at? Offline I was in line to slightly above what others thought.

Not no, but HELL NO.
Just my observations from the pics/video provided......
Why does a what is essentially a three year old car that has been "Rotisserie Restored" have a frame rail all beat to hell like this with paint recently chipped off?
In the video (what was the point of this video?) he slams the door shut, and this is how it lines up? Was the door not rehung correctly or is something wonky going on with the body seeing how the frame is all beat?
No way I'd pay over 100 large for this.

What would you all pay for it? As a running car, to be driven, a lot. Would have to check out as original metal, but I tend to think it will. Big hit to me if it doesn’t have that.
I see torque boxes so that’s a good sign, I see no headrests in a car that has to be after Jan 1 build date so that’s a bad sign. Three speaker dash is good thing. Air grabber looks ok. Trunk is red and has jack.
Tons of small issues, like several blackout items and the gauge bezel is black. Easy stuff, but did we have a Chevy boy’s second attempt at a Mopar?
Front end needs to be aligned, no shakedown can take place anytime soon.

IMO,
$70-80K max
At dealers asking of $105. Not a chance
IMO the other one I told you about is a Far FAR better buy at $125k ,,,,IF you can pull that trigger

Wouldn't pay more than parts prices until at least the following questions were satisfied:
Where's the FT & BS, and is there another car existing/registered/titled with that documentation ? Any evidence of body #s transferred or tampered with ? A thorough look underneath, in trunk, etc etc - any issues ?
With no idea of original options, colors, & equipment, if the above were satisfactory, it's in the non-#s, restored-driver Hemi car market. Well below the asking price, since it doesn't run or drive as far as we know, so all of that might need going through + parts.

Supposedly the body numbers all match. Nothing shows up anywhere associated with the vin. Other than a dmv record I found. Probably really did fall off the radar in 71. Personally I think this might be a mild racecar. Would look for twists. Car does run now, I have video.
It’s a title jump, last transferred in 99. Would have to be done at a courthouse for me to get involved. Happens A LOT in the area, most people see it as normal. I don’t, but I know it’s not some super big deal to solve. Transferring as an historical skips the tax hassles too.
I’m thinking clone plus a little bit is fair price.
The range I gave in order to get the vin must not be as off as suggested by the ghost man offers, or I wouldn’t have the vin now. Car has obviously not left the building yet.
Other opinions?
