I am using a megasquirt MS3 system. Not the easiest to use but the most feature per dollar IMO. If I started over today I might go Holley Dominator because of the info and support that is so easy to find. You have to work for information for a NA V8 with megasquirt but you save thousands of dollars in the process.
My system has been in my car since 2015. I couldn't ever imagine going back to a carb and distributor now lol. I drove it a few weeks ago after 45 days of sitting. The car is on E85, it was 45* in the garage and I leaned in the window and fired it up.
Just for clarity this is a port injected coil on plug setup. If I were to choose a throttle body EFI setup to swap in place of a carb I would go with the Holley Terminator or whatever model it is that looks just like a holley carb.

Well it depends, what do have the most of, Time or Money? If you have more money than time, I would go with a Holley terminator system. If you have more time than money, (me) I did an ms3 ultimate to learn from. The ms3 can do about anything, the unfortunate part is the instruction just touch on it. The manual is over 400 pages. I run a 557 B1-MC on methanol, mechanical pump, Coil near plug (CNP) 8 O2 sensors for individual cylinder control, and knock sensors with a digital dash. The ECU controls the stock alternator regulated to 16V, a soft start variable speed fan control. I honestly made it as hard as possible to force myself to learn. I currently log 147 data streams on every pass. If you are average on computers, I would do the Holley system. If you are good with wiring, computers and want to learn the system, go with MS3.

Without Data, you’re just another guy with an opinion.

Sure, here is a COPO Stock Eliminator car that I tune. It is basically a very high dollar bracket car with EFI. https://youtu.be/qfIEopIz3s0The COPO cars come from the factory with a Holley HP EFI system. They use port injection and coil on plug. I've tuned dozens of EFI bracket cars. A lot of them use the Holley Sniper which is an inexpensive carb replacement EFI system. The faster cars use Terminator, HP or Dominator systems. Some bracket racers turn off the self tuning when racing since they prefer to adjust their dial in based on the weather and they don't want the EFI system to be "changing jet sizes" while they are going down the track. Other people just let the EFI system do their job and they figure out how to adjust the dial in as the weather changes.

I just finished my SBM W5 engine. Have not installed it yet. We went with the Holley Dominator EFI and CNP. I went with it because it has so many available inputs and outputs. I'm hoping that after we get it going that it's durable and consistent. It didn't take too many pulls on the dyno before it found a tune that it liked. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/0_5yVLDivm0?feature=share

I do...I use a Holley Sniper 4500....Love it.
If your not going to spend the time to change jets on a carb after each run and find the best jetting for your setup, I recommend going with efi..And let it tune for the AFR you set. I have had 2 different FAST systems, and now a Holley. The Holley has a lot of really nice tables for a bracket racer....And it logs everything...And its very expandable....And it is plug and play.,,,I did cheat a little on the fuel system setup. I run a universal Aeromotive return style regulator down on the frame rail, but I dead head it up to the throttle body. I can switch right back to a carb with a spring change in the regulator.

Sweet looking set up.
