Wow Ted I didn't know you were going through that!
Great news and what a great story that she was up for the game. She sounds like a trooper!

Hope she heals up well Ted! I went on Medicare about 9 months ago. Other than some silly hoops I had yo jump through because of getting "retired" by my job, it's been great.

glad to hear the good news Ted ! being a medicare recipient for years now, the secret [if one wants to call lit such], is picking the right supplement plan. you need to definitely tailor that plan to your needs you have now, and in the future. this needs done yearly, as plans [usually] do not carry over unless you desire them to. my wife and i have a meeting with our insurance lady every year when the enrollment period is open to review the past years activity, as well as our current health status, and possible needs looking forward to the coming year. not having quite the situation you have just gone through, i have had several "stays at the luxurious resort on the hill" over the years, [including a recent 12 day "relaxation"] and medicare and my supplement paid 100%. you will get many "this is not a bill" statements, and while there is a section that states "you may be responsible for these charges" [or similar language], i have yet to be billed for them. here's hoping your wife a speedy recovery !

my wife had CIGNA until this year's plan evaluation. it was a very good company. unfortunately, her needs changed, and CIGNA did not offer several things she needs going forward. that's why it is important to review every year, as your needs may change, while your policy may not keep up.
