Shipping enclosed will be 2k to CA. Maybe a better deal to be had, but whatever. That’s a good guess based on what I’ve seen personally.
Mopars seem to do best at a live auction. That will take time to get slotted at a good venue, plus need to see about paperwork without having title in his name. Plus transport costs.
However, we really don’t know what “restored” means here. That varies WILDLY and determines the whole ballgame here. A perfect, professionally done, truck in date coded parts might be worth bringing out west. A backyard build with “good enough” this and that isn’t.
It could just as well be a homebrewed driver that looks decent at 10 feet and has headers, etc.
Another issue worth knowing is how he can sell it. Can it be done via the current title and some probate papers? If he brought it to CA can you title a vehicle and not register? It will require smog as noted. I know I can do a title only, but maybe they frown on that out there?
Least risk, most exposure quickly, and cash outlay is eBay.
