No. And I was not disappointed in the least. I went by pictures, talks w/ the sales manager Jon, trust in humanity and crossed fingers!

The car gods were looking after you on that deal.

Good for you!

I haven’t really seen any great deals from those dealers…I did see a nice 1968 roadrunner with a 440/4speed transplant sold on Mecum for $30k yesterday. I think some of the prices we see online are pretty inflated from what people actually pay for a driver quality car.

I haven't bought a collector car from a dealer, but I did sell one to Mershon. Super easy deal and paid me more than I expected. Did I leave money on the table? Maybe a little but it was worth it not to deal with the goombah buyers that a car like I was selling would attract (it was a stock vintage 'Vette, and hoo-boy are "Corvette people" a special breed). Made me wonder what they were going to charge the retail customer; they said the car would likely go overseas.

that is likely the most understated quote I've seen on this forum. Air cleaner has the wrong wing nut, 2 points, battery cables are misaligned 5 points, the loop in the carpeting is too small 5 points 🤣🤣

But restamped this and that add 500 points!

There is a guy in my region that was known to brag and boast about selling a car to a “corvette guy”. Guy puts it on a lift for him. Corvette guy goes over whole car, front to back. Takes a long time. Comes out and declares it’s the most original car he’s ever seen. Everything had been restamped or altered to be correct number. Like all of it.

I do wonder if that ended up being the one that went to court, I was never sure. Buyer won beaucoup bucks on that one.

I want my fair share
