Terrible, seems they just can’t get a break. Hoping all are ok and safe especially the CPW crew.

The article says that a major insurance company canceled a bunch of policies 4 months ago so many are uninsured. That insurance company sure dodged a bullet, someone's going to get a bonus.

Yearly wildfires in SO CA are expected every year whiney, sometimes they get lucky and get control of them before doing major damages like now whiney

So how close is the "Woodley" fire to the park? It sure is horrible how many people are going to suffer such devastating losses.

State Farm and Allstate both. There have been others as well. FL and CA home insurance markets are damaged beyond repair.

If I was an insurance company, I'd stay clear of those areas. It's not a matter of if, but when the widespread catastrophic claims will happen.

It’s was already out earlier today. About 1/2 mile south in that “wildlife preservation area” aka a bunch of wild dried brush.

Yea, but they got out of the whole state. My mom was dropped and lives in middle of city. Concrete jungle. No brush

Talked with a buddy with rural property in Santa Clarita; his power's been cut off for 3 days so far.
Since that's on a well, that means no water.

RIght, because the state will not allow them to write insurance in some parts of CA and not others. All or nothing, so they did the smart thing and bailed. CA and FL are in almost identical situations regarding insurance, just for slightly different reasons.

Great, they think they are protecting a smaller group of people but make the larger group suffer.

Not at all. They didn't hurt anyone. They chose to stop doing business there.

It's been 4 months. Plenty of time to get another policy.

Each person had to make their own decision. Many gambled and lost.

The insurance companies made the smart move and got out of that cesspool. I've been there many times and have zero desire to spend any more time there than necessary. Crying shame that such a beautiful area has been destroyed by entitlement and politics.

Images of the Hollywood Sign Engulfed in Flames Are Fake. The sign is not under threat from the ongoing Palisades and Eaton fires

I am not rich...but I get off my ass everyday to make sure I am not broke!

Can we get the Mexican cartels to help us with our supply chain issues? They don't seem to have any trouble getting stuff from one place to another.
