I'm getting ready to order, buy, a wiring harness for one of my street rod cars (1940 Ford Tudor), which wiring harness company's do you guy like and which ones to stay away from.
I really will appreciate all the help I can get on this, thanks in advance thumbs bow luck

i am probably one of the only ones who prefer to make my own, one wire at a time, buying quality components, then "digging in".
not casting aspirations against any harness manufactures out there, just expressing my own personal preference.
your mileage will vary.

I've used American Autowire several times - '53 F250 upgrade (alternator & 12V Neg ground), several LS/FJ40 swaps - with excellent results.
They have a fairly inexpensive hot rod harness, or the more dedicated type.
I'll use them again if the need arises.

I've taken a couple of Dodge truck harnesses apart on the kitchen table and waded thru previous owner butchery and rebuilt them, adding in underhood fuse boxes sourced from other vehicles that are in my local junkyard. Much better now that there are no more fusible links... Lots of uninsulated barrel crimp splices, solder and marine grade heat shrink tubing involved.

I could build my own, I worked 33 years in the telephone industry customer service department doing prewiring of homes and businesses and installations of phones and key systems. I have A.S. degree in electronics but I'm 79 yrs old now and looking for a easier, quicker way to get this project on the road and drivable shruggy
The big thing is trying to remember what gauge wire to use on each circuits and trying remember how many watts are require to operate those circuits confused whiney shruggy
It will have electric windows, heat and air conditioning, electric seats, no heat or cooling on the seats though tsk and a decent stereo system, nothing fancy or loud tsk
I'm thinking of using 85 to 100 amp single wire alternator and individual as needed relays for each circuit wrench luck Time to start the pursuit and research luck

Contact M&H wiring, they sell direct unless it’s a Mopar.

You can buy Mopar wiring harnesses made by M&H through YearOne or an YO approved company. YearOne owns the licensing rights that they bought from Chrysler.
