Hypothetical question.

1967 GTX , Real car, hemi 4psd , dana
Factory black with red interior

Not a trailer queen . but very nice car. Would do very well at local shows and gets A LOT of looks where ever it goes
Fender tag says hemi auto.
Owner has known the car since the 70s and its always been a 4spd
So it was converted many many years ago, ( most likely )
Or factory screw up , ( Not likely )

Sorry, I dont have any pictures ,,,YET

I have record of a Hemi Charger 500 converted to 4spd Dana in about 1973

I think just after it was repo’d. I think John Irving and/or relative was involved in the repro auction purchase.

So I can certainly see it converted early on.

There was a burnt orange 70 Challenger at a Spring and Fall Fling that was bought as a 383 or 440 car but swapped to Hemi early by original owner. And that original owner didn’t pay his bill and it was repo’d. I think insurance cost on the Hemi VIN was factor for the swap.

Bill, I would think you have a firm grasp on '66-'67 values, but FWIW, I'd guess 60-80 depending on condition, how it runs/drives, and whether the 727/A833 conversion is an issue for a buyer.
I think folks would be divided on that - while I prefer 4-speed, #s & codes can be a big deal, and that would kinda bug me at a top dollar price.
Sounds like a very cool car in any case.

I told him max maybe $125
And field offers.

Or price it in the upper 80s.
Sell it for mid 80s. And would be gone quick. IMO

This is not a trailer queen.
But it is a very nice car.
Factory color combo. Real hemi car. Not original engine.

Factory back with red interior is king. Imo

I'm pretty sure all oem metal no rust car

He is not 100% sure if he wants to sell......or not.
Just thinking about it right now.

I know I've turned down $100k for mine.
Two different people....two different occasions.

Not as much as I used to be I still get asked quite a bit if I want to sell mine.
Answer is always the same. No

Also.....
I think anything in the 70s would a screaming deal for this car.

My number was 75k. Thought about it for a day and that falls into what you have here. I think to pull bigger numbers it needed to be factory three pedals. I’ve seen a few deals on cars lately and don’t think the market is very hot right now.

I know of 2 separate 67 GTXs . Sold in past year.
Both 440 auto cars.
Both very nice cars on par with this car condition wise.
Both sold quickly in low/ mid 50s
1st one was a color changed car from HH1 Dark Copper to Black , high option car current owner bought it last winter I think
2nd was HH1 dark Copper . And probably the better of the 2 cars I know of . Sold in past 3 months and once listed sold in about 2 weeks

Imo. Market may be down
But quality cars are still very much in demand and still pull decent money.

Bill
Let me know if your friend decides to sell the car.
I really like that color combo!

Thanks
Matt

I believe timing matters - Winter always seems "slower", due to weather, holidays, and for some, finances.
Things - sale time and prices - always seem to pick up once Spring is on the horizon.
For one thing, it's obviously safer to ship or drive once the snow & ice & salt are gone.

So a number 2 or 3 car? Non numbers matching engine with a transmission change. $65-$75K.

Only picture I have of the car, and its not a very good one

I would say this car is a solid #2 car all day long. Maybe slightly better than my own car

If I thought this car could be bought in the 60s, I'm gonna try to own it

Its On the right.
On the left is my car

Without more pic's info, low 60's tops. The conversion factor (or other major changes) really hurts based on my experiences. The economy in general is in a questionable state with January 2nd fast approaching. I also feel the market is soft due to this. twocents beer

It looks great - yet, with the thing I have for blue/blue cars, the GTX next to it tips me over !

Gonna have to take my word for it.
But the black car is easily the better of the 2 hands down

There are 3 1967 hemi GTXs ( that I know of ) in the area. And all 3 are 4spd
1-blk with red
1- Blue with dark blue interior ( I think ) part of me thinks its a black interior . But I could be wrong as I've only seen that car twice
1 blk ( original green car ) with white interior

Up until just a few years ago, there were 2 hemi GTX verts ( 1 blue auto - 1 blk 4spd ) and a 4th hardtop, also blk and 4spd

There used to be a copper Hemi GTX conv out in AZ a while back

I like the light blue with dark blue stripes. I think would look better with dark blue interior.

But black with red stripe and red interior...that a heck of a good looking car.
