Is the claim of number of 1969 Fastbacks accurate? Firewall looks a little scary.

I remember that one - came out of an auction, think it was a warehouse with a bunch of cars.
I'm thinking he means Cuda 383 4-speed fastbacks
Looks like the guy cleaned it and not much else.

Yes, 130 4-speeds. Looks OK to me! up I believe it was one of the Soneff auction cars out of Denver... work

I think thats where I saw it before!. I bought a Barracuda out of that auction as well. I didn't realize the 4 speed production number was so low. Interesting.

Remember that’s the ‘Cuda model production

They made more 1969 Formula S 383 4-speed fastbacks also.

I wonder if that hideous Plymouth script is painted or just a decal n the trunk? Needs to be removed.......

If I remember this was a very clean rust free original body panel car.

Not any negative replies on this car so the masses must grasp its importance and rarity so Id ask the ones who know on how close is the asking price to being inline with current times? Sadly long ago I had a really nice 383 4 speed Dart but simply viewed it as a dart with a 383 and a drivers side manifold I did not like. And so I drove and beat it without consideration for its possible rareness.

That's likely what the seller paid - good luck with that - I'm thinking that it's a $ 30,000 car if it runs & drives right and has no rust.
I'd have to clean & paint the engine compartment, re-do the hood stripes, and deal with the trunk decal, which could also mean some paint work.
Y2 is a tough color to match...

I wont forget this car.
I know I mentioned this before.
I tried to buy tis car when it was auctioned off a couple years ago in CO.
I placed a bid on it 26K and some change. I was the high bidder. I went to lunch when I came home the auction was over and the car
sold for less than my bid???

I called the auction house and got some BS story.
Not sure what happened.

I still like the car though.

Same thing happened to me with this auction. I was high bidder online on several of the cars, and the sold for under my bid. Made no sense. When I picked up the car I did win,
I asked the lady running the show there what happened. Just kind of got a blank look and shrugged her shoulders. There were some great cars, but something fishy happened for sure.
I guess I should have went in person, but even then, fishy stuff happens...

I suspect you are right.
The seller is located in CO.
I think they probably just took an in person bidder over the on-line bidder bcause they didnt want to deal with on line stuff.........Who knows?

You should contact the seller and ask some questions, especially if he was there at the auction when he won it! Explain your situation, it should be interesting... work

I do understand the issue with the trunk.
But I would never touch the hood stripes.
Only original once.

You want it nice and shiny? Buy a restored car and please leave survivors alone.

Carsten, that's pretty much my point: for me - and obviously opinions differ, and that's OK - the trunk lid & hood are a bit rough.
Spiffing up 5% of the paint/details to me in a sympathetic manner is less invasive than the exterior restoration work many would do.
But I'd rather not have to spiff up a survivor even that 5%...
My own survivor car is nicer...and FWIW, I actually like it more than my restored car.

yes, opinions differ and that is totally fine. beer

I do love survivors. Even with patina to be honest.
I don't touch anything on the oputside of a car.

One of my Survivors is a 1968 Charger R/T 440, 4-speed car that sat 10 years in a barn. Mice were inside and did damage. Hence the original carpet smells pretty bad and is faded to yellow, too. But I can't bring over myself to swap it out. Drivers seat is worn in the bottom and I don't change it.
I only change technical items (brakes etc).

Most of my survivors drive better than any of the restored cars.
Cars that were never disassembled are a different story exspecially if they aren't driven into the ground.
Rattle free and most things work as they should.

I would probably even let the ugly trunk decal alone on this Cuda.

I'm with Carsten, I wouldn't touch anything on the outside of that Barracuda.

That deck lid didn’t survive and doesn’t jive with the rest of the car.

It's a "mans" car, manual transmission, steering and brakes.

Cuda 383 4 spd, second generation Cuda a one year only trim, and last year for factory big block A Body, and 4 spd original paint car. If it really is rust free and runs and drives well price is probably in line with current market. But flippers would not touch it at that price no meat left on the bones at that price. Long term that car is likely to go up a lot. I would repaint that engine compartment immediately.

Wish I'd known or cared about that 50ish years ago. I could have bought an orange one for $750. It was rusty tho.
Lower quarters and floors shot.

Coulda got me barnfind money for it today! Lol.
