I've kind of been on the hunt for a 80514, I think that's a great carb for 410-450" engines.

I built my own starting with a Braswell 1.59" v main body I picked up. Unfortunately, between the upgraded boosters & metering blocks and the slightly larger CNC'd venturi, the 80514 baseline tune I started with is horribly rich w/ this parts combination and I haven't started getting it dialed in, yet.

I got mine a year ago from Scogin Dicky Performance. They had it in stock and $30 lower than anyone else.

I got one years ago from either Autozone or Advance Auto Parts using a discount code that made it a killer deal for the carb I built and later sold, but it's not available from them now; Scoggins-Dickey doesn't list it anymore, either, FWIW. A few will pop up on Summit now and then, but then they go on backorder for months until the next ones trickle in.

Thanks to all on here, this has been a really informative thread.

While I don't doubt some of these carbs, especially with the annular boosters, will give great drivability,
I still doubt that they flow 1000 CFM. I admit I have not called and chatted with some of these carb builders.

In fact, I've not read what a 1050 Dom with annular boosters will flow either, maybe it's actually way higher than 1050 at 1.5" pressure drop.

You can read what horsepower they support but not the actual flow numbers.
Maybe I'm just being too picky, but I have to believe this info is out there somewhere.

Call Dom and pick his brain. He built me one using my BLP 1.59" venturi main body. BLP told me it would flow 1050 or so.

Maybe these will help
4150 dry flow tests

4150 wet flow tests

Those results are good and, a couple years old .
Suggest talking to Mike Laws as he is about as current as anyone on current main body designs, improved flow metering blocks ( lot done there just in the last year as far as being available ) . I havenet seen anything "new" on boosters really other than the Upper Jet system allowing us to change boosters easier, try skirted downlegs etc pretty easily etc.
I believe re-running those same tests with some of the improvements made in the last couple years will show some improved flows , more shapable curves etc.
Would sure like to see !!!!

Atomization and booster response improvements? Yes

And... can you find one? I've been searching for a Proform 67218 main body and don't see one anywhere. I suspect they're being made in limited quantities these days.

Thanks, that's helpful. Just tried buying one from Summit, we'll see if it shows up!

I had a 80514 years ago and liked it. Then a year or 2 ago Holley or Summit was advertising a 80514-2, with is the same thing except made out of aluminum, and so I bought one of those. They charged me a few dollars less the $1,000 for it. That hurt.
