No political threads in the general forum. Straightforward Mopar economic data is not necessarily political. There was no partisan comment. When is it ever?

We said the same thing when they took government money, crushed all the big block molds and went to minivans and front wheel drive cars. What's that been...............like 40 years or so ago?

I am not surprised.
They offer almost nothing Americans would want, what they would want nobody can not afford.
If Stellantis is doing the same worldwide I see multiple car companies going belly up.
I think you hit the nail on the head. Nothing anybody would want at prices they can't afford. They've totally lost the plot. People who can afford a 100k car don't buy Dodges or Chryslers. They buy Mercedes, BMW.... real "Status" cars. And the folks who want a truck, a Challenger etc.... certainly don't want (or can't) afford 70k for what amounts to a mid-level car that you can hear depreciate in value. GM has said publicly they've given up on the whole mass-production idea and are fine with building fewer cars at higher cost. I guess nobody working for General Motors remembers the Great Depression.

Mopar repeats this: Fail, get saved, do good for a decade then fail again and be in dire need of new ownership. Govt bailout in the early 1980s, then bought by Daimler around 1998, then Cerberus group bought them in 2007, then Stellantis bought them in 2021. Chrysler seems to squander its successes. The Challenger outsold the Camaro. This is HUGE. A Mopar muscle car never even came close to Camaro sales. Young men and women who have no idea about classic historical Mopars are buying Chargers and Challengers because they like the looks and performance. And now those cars are a liability to own $$ wise even if under factory warranty.
Keep old mopars alive.

Loss of Imperial, loss of Plymouth, re-badging of Dodge truck, drastic reduction in dealerships.... Then look at the product lines. VERY limited offerings from Chrysler, over dependence on the performance niche market with Dodge, a glut of unsold inventory for Jeep, RAM being the only division that still has life. Yeah, Mopar has developed/used some desirable engine designs but you still have to have a chassis that people will buy to stuff it in. I stand by my comment.

You overemphasize what you see as failures while downplaying or outright ignoring substantial successes. The modern Challenger alone is one of Chrysler's most successful automotive products in it's history. Far more so than the original by any measure. And there are so many more recent examples of products that far surpass anything that came before. But you do you: Concentrate on the negatives.

And why I'm looking at 35-40 year old DODGE trucks instead of something newer.

America couldn’t get enough of the G3 Hemi or the LX platform for going on 20 years. So they axe it.
They reap what they sow, i’ll stand by and laugh. Idiots.

But you do you: Concentrate on the negatives. That's why the stock is tanking and Stellantis is on life support. Reality is reality, even viewed through rose colored glasses.

Again, you are doing you: ignoring the positives and concentrating on the negatives.
That is NOW! And now does appear to suck. But how about the OTHER 40 years you were dragging through the gutter during which Chrysler has introduced some of their most popular and successful products?
And by the way, I will take a late model Ram truck over ANY truck that came before. The 5.7 coupled with the 8 speed tranny is light years ahead of the old stuff any way you want to slice it. But, to each his own.

Rotfl Guy starts a thread about the outright totally negative outlook for the company, then chastises a guy for “focusing on the negative.” Lmao. He wouldn’t have pointed out the truth had you not gone and started this thing. lol lol lol.
