I put a Spicer 5831B 3-speed brownie in my flatbed truck many years ago, but the cheap shifter I rigged has always been frustrating. Originals are basically unobtainable.

Recently I found an ITM (Inland) 3-speed shifter that needs a good cleaning and greasing. Yes, I know they aren't the greatest but I won't be drag racing and the brownie is non-synchro anyway, so no speed shifting.

How do I take it apart? shruggy

thanks.

It looks like a Hurst body so there are plenty of videos on Hurst shifter rebuilds on Youtube. Paul Cangliosi has some very good videos on the subject. They are very easy to disassemble and clean. All you need to do is pry the plate off the side and push the tube out of the pivot and the whole unit come out of the bottom. Just keep all the shims and levers in order so you can re-assemble it and it works. Use white lithium grease to lube the plates and levers.
