I'm cleaning out some old items and I have an upper dash pad that I'm not sure exactly what it fits. I have it narrowed down to either a 1968 or 1969 B body. My Googling has not been very helpful.

It has some numbers debossed into the vinyl, 31205 and 2822823.

From what I can tell '68 and '69s differ possibly in their widths, heater control recess and maybe the edges are different. I attached pics showing these areas.

Thanks in advance for any help!

That's a '68. The 69 upper pads had a different contour facing the driver - angled at their face, and flatter in contour, instead of the "blade" look of '68.
Same width, interchangeable, and '69 style was also used for the '70 models.

My ‘68, that I’ve had since birth, does not have the notch for the heater controls that the picture shows. I’ m pretty sure that this is a ‘69 B Body dash pad.

That's interesting.
My '68s have all had a notched area to clear the heater controls, and a recess that's visible with heater control plate removed.
My '69s have had a larger recess because the '69 pads extend down.
My '68 & '69 are parked in my garage and I just looked at them.

My 68 road runner is the same as the one the OP pictured.

just looked at my 69 charger's pad.
it is straight across without a peak, comes down at an angle from the top of the pad to an approximately 1/2-5/8" wide flat face that has the cutout for the heater controls in the center, as has been described above.

68LAR - I'd really like to see a photo of the underside of that upper pad - was it a heater delete car, perchance ?

I had a heater control delete plate years ago, maybe the pads were different for that ?

Well, I’ve got to apologize. My pad does indeed have a notch for the heater controls. I have no idea why I thought differently. Sorry guys.
