Bought a 30930 Milodon pan and a Milodon 32005 windage tray for the Hemi project. The tray will not fit the pan without redrilling all the holes. To use the pan i would also have to trim it for clearance of the internal oil pick up tube, since i have relocated it a bit. Anyone here ever see this? I have just decided not to use the tray because as its been stated, the tray does its job best above 6500rpm. I dont expect to shift this 572 any thing above 6800-7000 and not really worried about a 10 or 15hp loss if there is one. I'm trying to decide if i should use a crank scraper in its place as i believe they are more effective or just nothing at all, just bolt the pan on and forget it. This will be mostly a street deal. All opinions welcomed.

over the last 10 years or more, it seems the quality of most items, even reputable name brands, has slipped quite a lot.
maybe it's the workers that would rather be at home playing on their phone ? who knows ?
have you contacted the seller about this issue ?
perhaps he would send you another one to see if it fits, or has the same issue ?
maybe just a bad batch of them out there ?
it seems these days there is no such thing as a "bolt on" part...............

I bought the tray new, but second hand. Maybe why he sold it?

up Me too, I make my own out of what ever flat stock I have in stock, steel or aluminum wrench up
I saw some dyno results from years ago on a BB Chevy, the scraper started freeing up HP above 5000 RPM and the windage tray started at 6000 RPM with or without the scraper, both together added most "free" HP up wrench

I had Kevin at IJ send me th etray pictured. I added tape and cardboard for a fit that barely touched and sent it back to him. He made me one to my specs. Then I trimmed it to fit with-in .060". It did have to have the bolt holes opened, as not all fit. Wasn't a big deal. He builds stroker scrapers. But with various rod/crank brands. To make it fit as close as possible the template is the way to go. The cost is reasonable less than $100. Kevin is great to work with. I highly recomend him. https://www.crank-scrapers.com/

Sounds like some great advise. Will give them a call. Your scraper would probably fit my combo very close. Callies 4.5 stroke crank and Callies 7.1 rods with 2.200 big end.

I would run something...either the tray or a scraper. Lots of windage w/ a big stroke motor.
I haven't bought a new tray in many years...the last Milodon I bought was close to 20 years ago and it fit fine. Quality of everything has gone downhill, so what you're seeing isn't surprising to me.

Interesting picture. Is that one piece of sheetmetal ? and what's going on with the front ? doesn't look like a lot of drainage there.... Nice piece though.

It's marked IJ for Ishusra Johnson and also 4.5 for the crank stroke. The squiggels are the drains for the timing chain area. This engine has no timing chain, It has a Jessel belt drive.

I did the same as Doug.

I sent Kevin a template (4.25" 440 Source crank, and 7.10" rods on 2.20") and he made it and I fine tuned it to 0.035" clearance, then drilled and pinned the windage tray/scraper/girdle to the block.

I used the standard stroke Milodon 32000 windage tray. With the gridle, the standard stroke tray cleared and fit snug to the crank.

I use the Hemi oil pan. With the added thickness of the tray/girdle/scraper, I run 7 quarts and it oil level is still below the "full" mark on the drip stick, and the pan really does not hang down much below the K member.
