Im running a sniper 1000cfm x-Flo. No PVC, just a dual catch can set up on it now. The 1st set up was a carb with pvc but leaked on initial start up. I changed to the sniper after I thought I had it fixed with the rope seal.

What rope seal did you use ? Fel pro , those are garbage .

I used the best gasket #5279 with success .

I used an old NOS Rope seal on it because everyone was complaining about the felpros, which I couldn’t even find and all of the new graphite ones leaking. Like I said, dry as a bone about the 1st 1000 miles then one day she started leaking again .

I have a stock block and eagle crank and run a PVC valve, I think I got the retainer from Mancini many years ago. It will not leak normally but after a few 7200 RPM blasts on the quarter mile it will spit some oil into the transmission housing and will drip out onto the garage floor over time. I also have an '87 Wrangler with AMC 258 engine, needless to say both vehicles have cardboard underneath.

Try O’Neill porting and machine, Benton, Ks. Karl will probably answer, 316-874-6648. He is building my 572, and then my low deck 499. Good people.

I must be the second luckiest person in the world because I have never had a rear main seal leak on a big block or small block either. All with aftermarket cranks. I use Ultra Grey and put a thin coating on the outside of seal. Clock it 1/4 inch offset to the retainer cap, put a thin coating on the cap, tighten it down and fill cavity on retainer and outside channel with ultra grey. Done. All with Felpro seals and factory retainer cap.

Maybe I should branch off into the Mopar rear main seal replacement industry. laugh2

Wait a minute. Andy F just said they all leaked, especially the aftermarket stuff. You need a job?
