Is it a "Real, OEM AAR? Or is it a 340 1970 Barracuda? confused

Either way it looks like it came straight out of an early Australian "Mad Max" Set movie set work hahashruggy
I had a 1970 T/A Challenger that was missing the original six pack (it had a LD340 intake and 700 CFM Holley double pumper List # 4777 on it) and the original hood, it was noticeably different driving on the street than other E body 340 cars I had driven shruggy

The ONE detail that makes me think it's real is the antenna being on the right rear instead of the fender........

Look closely.......

Nothing on front fender, mount on rear quarter (at least I think it is)

Curious, what was the OEM reasoning for the relocation?

Good catch John. scope

Sadly, even if you got if for free, fixing it back to stock condition would take more than it would be worth.

Not 100% sure but I'd guess it had something to do with the fiberglass hood and AM radio interference.

Off the internet, so take it for what it is........"Since this RF (radio frequency) noise was especially disruptive of Chrysler's new-for-1970 stereo systems, all radio-equipped T/As and AARs were built with their antenna mounted on the right rear quarter-panel, rather than on a front fender."

Interesting, this was true for all FG hood Mopars?

No, the 1969 A12 cars had front fender antennas. Perhaps that’s where the problem was noticed?

YES that's where the problem was noticed. I have a copy of a complaint letter from an A12 Road Runner owner from Western Pennsylvania to Chrysler about the AM radio interference. They sent a tech guy to his Pittsburgh and he hand wrote on the Chrysler reply letter from customer service "They moved my antenna to the rear fender". Found the letter and talked to that owner when I got my A12 RR with the antenna also moved to the right rear fender (Y4 Gold A12 RR rear fender antenna image). I have a half dozen or so images of A12 Bees and RR's with rear mounted antennas. There is also a tech tip document from Mopar Canada with the tip to "Line the underside of the fiberglass hood with "tin foil" to minimize the RF interference. laugh2 .

I would guess that the problem was discovered on the A12 cars.
Corvettes were that way forever, plus a bunch of metal shielding over the distributor & wires.

That may be the ugliest Barracuda I've seen - if there's a worse one, I don't need to see it eyes

laugh2 Yeah, I guess I was askin' for it with that comment...

(With all the amazing work that guy did, I'm still amazed they missed the disproportions on the roof & side glass.)

Maybe its target market was for taxi or Limo use, which would be about right?
On the Op's pic, those red rear drums are the cherry on top for me.

It's a different generation but i was never impressed with the Fireball 500 Barracuda. Not one of George Barris's better builds.
