It is a tough sell for the aftermarket. The PG and TH have become so popular that it is hard to compete with them. The 727 doesn't really do anything super special, and they are expensive to build for high powered cars. Gear selection is the reason people choose to run a TF.

It does really look like a diesel trans, but I think they missed the mark on the design...If they ARE trying to contain the aforementioned drum explosion. They should have built in a steel sleeve or band in there somewhere. I do not think the design they have will do that. If they had sleeved it under all that extra reinforcement, with a steel band, then I think it would send it out the bottom which would be safer than into the drivers compartment.
My car was the victim of an exploding drum on the launch, although I was not the driver that day. The guy that was, was lucky to still have a foot. Broke two bones in his foot, and threw the shifter into the back of the car and pepper the interior like it was shot up with buck shot. I had chunks of the housing in the car, and a bunch of the rollers from the sprag, plus a bunch of the hot fluid. Was a real scary mess. Were you running a stock drum in that trans ? To me for the cost of that case, and having to cut the car up to use it, I would just buy a billet drum, a super sprag, and put a shield or blanket over the trans if It's required , the drum and sprag would be more than enough for the power level of my junk.

At the time, I do believe the drum was stock with good clutches and a RMVB. The drum in it now is A&A. To give you an idea how bad it was, we didn't find a good portion of the trans, it was just gone.
