Who is a good source for kick panel insulation? I took one out of my GTS and replaced it with one purchased from a member here. Thanks Jon! The old insulation was junk but I put the panel in anyhow. I wonder if I even need the insulation as the car isn't driven in cold weather?? work

I've never noticed a difference with/without.

The original insulation was for sound deadening. It had about a 3/16" layer of heavy tar paper that worked like a primative version of Dynamat. Even the original trunk mats were made from a primative material calledf MLV (Mass Loaded Vinyl). Basically black PVC vinyl mixed with metal and stone "dust" to make it heavier. Again, for sound deadening. Yep, even the hood insulation. Sound deadening. I hear such crazy ideas of what the hood insulation is for smile

Not needed anymore, they make good houses for mice though...

I just did the firewall insulation / cowl shoddy pad / kick panel insulation on my car over the weekend, used everything 71TA sells, great stuff as always. Firewall insulation nails popped right in, everything just fits like it should. I'm adding Kilmat to the roof before the headliner goes in and also to the floor under the carpet. And the doors as well. When used as a whole it makes a significant difference in noise reduction.
