I have a set of wide chrome molding for a 71 Challenger that I'm thinking of selling. It was rechromed many years ago but far from mint, probably about a 8.5 out of 10. One stud is broke off center molding, center crack was repaired (welded) but can be slightly seen, and some minor imperfections.

Don't want to break up the set. Anyone have an estimate for the 3 piece set?

Thanks, Mike

The long center piece is on Facebook market place now and looks to be in similar condition. He’s asking $2500. I’m not sure if he will get it but they are hard to find. A complete set is even better.

I saw that on Marketplace, in fact there are a lot of high dollar parts on there now! No idea what they are worth now, but a complete set should command big bucks!

Seems to be fishing some. But don't pop up much for comps, so I get it. But not that asked for either. That one does not have crack in center. And not repaired nor rechromed (it needs rechroming though.

I can't find the Facebook marketplace ad, let alone any other current prices for the center piece.

Thanks for the replies

The Facebook listing for the center hood m28 trim is mine. I just threw 2500 on it as I really do not know what to ask? I have been selling Challenger parts for 42 years and have never had one of these that was no cracked in the middle or damaged in some way. This on is really clean and would rechrome great.
I have had people tell me I am the scum of the earth for asking so much and that is should be "cheap" as people need it and I should help out. Sorry but this is my business and I wont be around long giving inventory away.
I feel it is probably worth in the 2K range.
I would think your driver quality rechromed set should be worth 2K - 2500 pretty easily, maybe more. I bought a set similar to this about 30 years ago and gave 1500 then!

I'll never forget the Mopar nats at Indy in 1993 and a guy I think who was from Md pulled in with a cube van about 5 pm Friday.
He had exactly 100 NOS wide hood molding centers all in their boxes.
He had them priced at $100.00 each but would only sell you one.
I think he regretted pricing them but was too late to change as it became a shark frenzy
I remember a few of the big vendors flagging down anyone they knew and giving them $100.00 to go get them another one.
It was all happening so fast that I gave a guy I didn't even know $100.00 and $10.00 more if he would get me a second one.
Stuck to him like glue and didn't let him out of my sight but it worked out.
They were all gone in 20 minutes.
He also had about 10 NOS shark tooth grills, NOS A-body gas tanks and a ton of NOS 70 RR GTX park lenses.
He had many other NOS items in quantity.
That van was almost empty in 45 minutes
He used to come back to the Nats for many years after but never had the same quantity or desireable parts as that year.
Others on here must remember that guy and his parts.
I still have my mldg box with 3579556 part number on it

My brother has a complete set of wide chrome moldings for his '71 Challenger.
He got his set at Carlisle around 20 years ago. Last time I saw that set ( still not on his car yet)...
It was very nice driver quality condition, I remember the center piece had a hairline crack in the center.
