Something sounds awry. Typically the '66 part numbers are 2XXXXXX rather than 3XXXXXX.

In many cases the number on the part and the number in the book are different and are often just one digit apart.
That's absolutely true. For example, a '66 318 exhaust manifold, 2532414 part number with a 2532415 casting number. But I would still question a 3XXXXXX PN for 1966.
