Concern for leaf spring sag was case of torsion bar adjustments being way different from side to side. Still not where it should be, but more on that later.

Big PITA getting the hood back on cuz:
1. for fiberglass, it's freakin' heavy
2. since all the front sheet metal had to come off to repair the frame and it went back on w/ some adjustments, stuff didn't line up the same as when pulled apart
3. the adjustment process getting the hinges positioned properly was a bit of an exercise in frustration

I was getting ready to say "Eff it!" and go back to a lift-off hood until we finally got things close enough on Sunday afternoon to keep it. But I could save some weight if I really had to...

Front end extension travel from static ride height is too limited: needs to be 5+" and right now it's a tad over 4". Probably gonna be a combination of lowering torsion bar adjustments and trimming the UCA bumpers to free up some additional travel.

I ran some really short UCA bumpers previously, but they were virtually flat and made a noticeable "Thunk!" sound when the front suspension topped out coming off the line. I was hoping to use a bumper with a bit more "give" in the initial contact this time, but they're too tall as is. sawzall

The overall car height is about where it was before, but I switched to shorter & skinnier front tires. Edit: added pic of how car sat back in 2009 w/ the taller tires for reference.

Can't hide the rust, scratches or dents now that I washed it.

Vinyl top got some TLC while I was at it.

The rear license plate mounts differently that before cuz we removed the '72-74 bracket and switched to the '70-71 approach. Unfortunately, now the license plate and the master cut-off switch are trying to occupy the same space, so I decided to trim off some "non-essential" section of the plate.

Need to contact a shop about 20 miles from home about getting the front end aligned.

PS - Car looks way better in pics than in person... it's definitely a 20-footer, but it's my 20-footer

Can't find the prop rod I made years ago, so I grabbed a kid's plastic bat I found stuffed in the basement and re-purposed it grin

Looks good Brad! My car is probably a 30 footer, lol. Looks better in pics than in person, but if it was really nice I probably wouldn't have as much fun w/ it.
The taller front tires help a lot w/ front travel. I use 28" tall fronts so I could lower the front end down for more travel while maintaining the same ride height it had w/ shorter tires.
FWIW...I ran for years w/ no front UCA bump stops at all. Trying to get all the travel I could.

Fox body. LMAO!

I had a '93 Cobra. Really nothing special. One just like the millions of others out there.

Best way to increase travel is 1" longer upper ball joints. Afco, Speedway and others have them. removiving the upper bump stops gives you maybe 1/2" at most.

I've been able to get sufficient travel with ride height and control arm bumper height. Swapped to QA1 tubular UCAs as part of the rebuild, but the upper ball joints are still stock dimension.

The other thing I always keep in mind is it's possible to free up more travel than certain dampers can support. My QA1 R-series are shorter than my old Koni SPA-1 and could become the defacto travel limiters if I don't verify they're not topped out before the bumpers come into play.

Shock extensions from Mr. Gasket solve the short shock issue.

I got a set of those on a shelf getting dusty; never been outta the bag.

Car gets towed this afternoon to the shop that's gonna do the front-end alignment. After that's done I should be able to start driving it around while working on other things it still needs done. Sitting for 15 years didn't do it any favors...
