interesting video on the projector headlights.
as my 1933 dodge "humpback" panel project will utilize an unknown make of old, 10" bulb/reflector/fluted glass lens headlights, i an planning to modify the reflector part to accept a modern style headlight bulb socket.
these headlights will also be installed low, on the center line of the front spindle/wheel assembly.
with that said, i know this low placement is far from anything of an ideal headlight location for the best lighting possible, but it will be done just for "character purposes" of the truck. this will be more in line with a fog light location of most modern vehicles.
the truck will see very limited night driving, if any, but after seeing the video, i an unsure just what kind of bulb to install in the original big light's reflector, as the reflector is entirely smooth.
i guess i will have to experiment with different bulb types to see what will work the best with what i'm going to use as headlights. hopefully, the original bulb socket hole will be big enough to allow several possibilities of bulb selection to be tried.

Has anyone tired the high beam from Holley, not the high/low beam? I'm curious if it has a different lens, reflector, and pattern from the high/low headlights. Or if its the same but with a single stage bulb?

[quote]it depends on how original you want your car to look.
when i was daily driving my 72 road runner, early 2000, i upgraded the headlights to regular over the counter halogen old style bulbs and wired them via a relay to give the bulbs direct battery voltage instead of thru the headlight switch.
i didn't have any problems seeing when driving at night./quote]

Same here with my 70 Barracuda

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

I’ve got two highs and two low/high in mine. The low beam is very bright and wide. It is directional and has a good strong beam that is focus low and does not seam to blind oncoming drivers. When you hit the high beams, it lights up everything. It reminds me of the optional light package on my new Challenger. They are great.
