It looks super dumb but I bet it is nicer to work out of.
I randomly came across a YouTube video from an amazon delivery driver. He went over why he likes the Electric Rivian delivery vehicles so much vs the standard vans. Same story, looks dumb, works great.

That's ugly. Many of the newer vehicles are ugly. Most of the newer vans are not attractive. On the other hand, the taller roof lines make moving around inside of them much easier. So, I'd guess this new mail truck will be better for the drivers.
Does this new mail truck / van use a regular production vehicles frame or drive train?

There is an article in the Wall Street Journal today about them.
While they get comments like "they sure weren't designed for looks" The mail delivery folks love them. Better visibility, current safety features and most of all air conditioning.
They also like that they are taller, no stooping over for most, and hold larger packages better.
The Grummans they replaced where I think were called "long life vehicles", supposed to have a twenty-five year life that was about forty years ago so they did pretty well.
AIR CONDITIONING???? That's going to have a negative impact on the environment as it's going to consume more power creating more greenhouse gasses to recharge them, and then the windshield height will create the need for more power yet 🔥🔥🔥🤣🤣

We have a friend that is a rural route carrier, and uses his own vehicle. Even with the windows open, when it's 95°+ outside, the AC still helps. ---- Remember the speeds most of these things travel at. A huge window isn't much drag at that point.
If you ever find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.
