I must have bad luck then. Three tanks all were CR1A I even contacted Spectra directly and asked for extra cushioning when shipped and they said they don`t do that. I kept the last tank and used it as it was only bent on the corner and had a small ding. UPS driver laughed when he saw how bad the first tank was and asked me if I wanted to refuse the shipment.

It arrived today. One corner was bent just at the lip - straightened out no problem with a hammer & dolly. NICE LOOKING TANK! Looks like NOS.

So what did you guys do about the tooling oil inside? I assume tape the sender hole & slosh some fuel around inside it a few times to clean it out?

I ran it like it came. Honestly never gave it much of a thought.

I usually purchase tanks through carquest napa or parts authority for modern cars and don't have issues.

The two from TanksInc were purchased through summit. Arrived last week without damage.
