as many know, i truly despise those cheapy, bolt on battery terminals that everyone seems to use instead of sourcing a new cable, or getting a quality crimp/solder terminal.
well, i finally found a "bolt on" battery terminal i REALLY like ! boogie whistling biggrin

sorry this is where being cheap gets you stranded.
the zip tie could easily slide down and render that clamp useless.
spend a few more bucks and get vice grips instead. you don't need the zip tie then.

Just put the vice grips on the pliers. Then you have a redundant system. Super safe and secure. up

Could have just gotten a big die and threaded the ground post and put a big nut and washer on it and tightened the nut with the pliers. Sophisticated and still crude at the same time. wink

Hose clamp, zip tie, wood screw...several ways to hack that in questionable but humorous style...

I went back and looked. Either the pliers have been there a very long time, or their original condition was pretty questionable...
That would be loads of fun on the positive battery post.

I fixed my battery connection, but when I closed the hood, there was all kinds of sparks & stuff! I don't know what happened, the pliers wasn't near anything, I checked real good before I closed the hood.

Back in the early 70's I bought a 46 ford coupe in Fresno Ca. It had a pair of vise grips on the Pos. cable (positive ground), they were eaten a bit by the acid. I still have them and use them occasionally but not for battery posts wink whistling up
