i realize i went cheap but i expected a longer life.

i have heard for years tci stood for "Total Crap Inside"..........
what about a high stall factory converter ? i had one of those in a 727 behind a cop E58 360, and it stalled at 2650. had a "high stall" sticker on it.

3900+ miles no problems.
then supercharger sounding whining noise begins in bellhouse when on the throttle under load.
put some more miles on it until shifts quickly began to soften dramatically.
pulled trans...removed converter...internals of converter flopping around and some type washer sliding about. and support shaft scratched up behind the splines.

Alabama has been around a long time. (Pic is of non 727) https://www.summitracing.com/parts/ape-54084

These guys freshened a GER for me that shelved my ATI. They can fix your tci (typically)

Hughes in az sold me a convertor that was manufactured wrong, wouldn’t make things right. They admitted it was fubar, but left me for cold.

I want my fair share

I remember those two page adds for GER converters! "A better convertor cannot be bought at ANY price" I believe headed up their advertisement. Their prices were affordable to even the most impoverished mopar head.

Sounds like a good match for Coan's 11" Pro Street or something from Turbo Action

i fell for that add, and bought one. [3800 if i remember right]
at the same time, i bought a couple of their shift kits that were supposed to be like the trans-go TF2 kit.
what i got was a separator plate with a couple of springs. had a different part number than what i ordered as well.
i called them about it, and they said they would send out the correct kit, no problem.
got another separator and spring kit...........
called them several times after that, and got the same story, so after a while, i just said screw it...........
never did install their converter, and it's still on the shelf today, along with their "shift kits".

I have had great luck with PTC on my last 3 converters in my street/strip cars.
I have a 10" 3400 in one car, a 10",4000 in another car and a 9" 5600 in a 3rd car. All with great street friendly manners and flash as needed when at w.o.t.

I have ATI, PTC, and Coan. All good. Converter is not a place to go cheap if you have any horsepower.....
