A couple months after I joined, I was checking out the site when an announcement came over the radio about the Columbine High school shootings. That would mean I joined in Feb '99. Back then the log in page was black and white with the rainbow stripe like the MP race car paint jobs.

Member numbers seem more like a reflection of when you set up your profile on this version of the site.

A lot of people have come and gone over the years. Some obvious, many more, not as much. I can think of a couple guys who posted here who have passed that were never consistent posters so were never part of the popular clique and as a result, never got any mention.

Gosh. I had little kids at home when I started. Now I am a gramps. Mine says 12/22/03 but I could swear I was here when the twin towers went down. I'm #2105 though. Maybe I'm wrong. I sure remember most of you old farts though.

I spend time in a few Facebook groups. No disrespect but way easier to navigate without the crazy ads. Still, this place is more like family. Every time I stop in I am glad I did. Learned so much here while building my car. I owe a ton of my knowledge to the guys on this site. Also remember some extremely sad moments and times when I laughed so hard I spewed coffee all over my screen. Tanks for the memories everybody!

Yes, Moparts was using a basic script with the posts all in one thread at that time, had to log in every few days and delete the old posts so it wouldn't crash

On 9/11 I was in Australia on vacation and logged into moparts from Uluru ( about as far in the outback as you can get )
using a dial up modem , thinking that this new internet thing was really world wide !!!!!
