Well, if we were playing a game of “The Horsepower is Right”, no one would have went over. Some engines are just over achievers, and this just happens to be one of them. I’m sure many will doubt the numbers, but here are the numbers:

Got fuel flow data, atmospheric conditions, and correction factors to go w/ that?

I have no doubt about those numbers because they relate to the numbers I got on a similar combination but with the larger bore 400 block = 470" . 10.73 comp I am not sure how much our cams differ ? Mine is a Comp Cams 282s . Edelbrock heads and rpm intake , Comp rockers 440 source 3.91 rotating assy Ross pistons. https://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/topics/2396623/1.htmlCongrats ! That will be fun for sure ! Mark

Boy was i off the mark. Congrats Jeff on the great outcome! Looking back, inch for inch it matches a 408 smallblock stroker i built, but has real strong torque down low, where it will feal great with street gears!

That motor gets with it. Great numbers. Now get it in the car and post some times.

I said 560 so I was close on the torque. I didn't think that cam would make more than 500 hp but the TF heads flow very well at low lifts so they actually work better with a small cam than they do with big cams. These are Edelbrock Performer RPM heads, that have only had a good valve job done on them. Still the original valve springs they were shipped with 20 years ago.

That'll put smile your Dads face. Doug Oh he was smiling! Pretty sure the look on his face after the second pull, was a mix of happy, proud, and what the h#ll have I gotten into? A few things to take note on the dyno session: We used the dyno headers instead of the 1 7/8" TTi headers that will go into the car. There was also an air bell used instead of the factory air cleaner going on it, in the car. No drag of the water pump, fan combo is in use either. How much power does all that use up? Plenty, but we do not care. The engine runs great, and drivability will not be an issue. Would a different cam produce better results? Of course, but at what cost? My Dad is 73 years old, and just wants to drive his car again.

Awesome results. Even with the accessories hooked up it'll still be well over 500 hp and be a riot with the 4 speed. That'll definitely put a smile on his face!

Got fuel flow data, atmospheric conditions, and correction factors to go w/ that? Here is a screen shot from yesterday during the pull.

That's pretty incredible power! And what really stands out to me is how well the V.E. Must be working through the middle of the power curve.
Motors that build torque Early almost seem like they have almost a "slingshot" effect on the dyno where they make more HP at peak than you think they really should. I think it might have something to do with achieving near optimum port velocity at the brake low setpoint RPM and carrying that momentum through the RPM range of the sweep...as opposed to having to build velocity through a larger port against the brake.
Almost the same way a looser converter can accelerate the car harder with no increase in power output.
It also tells me the roll-on torque will be amazing.
What is the @ .050 Duration of the 484? like 234?
Quick question though....the Dyno Screen is at 5249RPM...almost right exactly right at the 5252 'crossover" where the HP and Torque should be the same reading? But it's showing 469TQ/526HP?
