Not sure how they are going to do payroll next week. I kept every single document that I could to prove my flagged labor hours but with some of the writers not familiar with hand written repair orders this will be a challenge. I'm hoping the service manager will give an average pay based on the previous month's checks.
The service manager was on vacation last week so he only got the delayed information from the GM.
Just hope they get it sorted out and execute the hackers in public.

Dealer I worked at years ago had hired a top salesman from Chrysler, he was real old school and they let him draw up the deals "manually" because he had a hard time with the CRM program on the computer. He did eventually learn it though. I asked him how he became a top Chrysler salesman, he said the GM allowed him to go into the service waiting area and talk them "out of the junk" and into new cars. That was minivan and neon era so it was probably a pretty easy hustle. Broken transmissions and blown head gaskets...

Have a buddy who's a tech at one of the larger dealers in Greensboro, NC. He tells us they're dead in the water right now because of the hack.

If you ever find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.

CDK is like windows 3.0 compared to Reynolds+Reynolds. Always has been crap.

But it's considerably cheaper, until crap hits the fan. Then it's not.

Cloud based IT system. Everything in the dealership runs through it. Service, parts, sales, accounting, invoicing, inventory (I have no idea where anything is) accounts receivable, payroll, everything. Shut down. Can't sell anything. Can't invoice anything.

Still dead as a fish today. We'll be doing overtime to fix the mess. We'll be dealing with this for months.

Their customer support is car warranty sales rejects I think. May as well not waste the time sitting on hold.

"How do I fix this?" "You can't. That's how it is." "Huh?"

I stopped running a number of functions through them. Parts ordering, etc. Easier to wing it.
