i have my tools fairly well organized in two, average sized, top and bottom boxes, plus a four door cabinet with adjustable shelves that is six foot wide x 56" tall and 20" deep, and i have to stop and think where stuff is in which box and which drawer. realcrazy
then there are a couple of boxes of junk, broken, and oddball tools that come in handy at times for fabbing up tools needed for one time use. those are a real bonus when needed, and i'm glad to have that stash many times over.
then there is the box of tools i carry in "the bus", which is one of those bi-fold plastic cases of sockets, wrenches [american and metric sizes], pliers, screwdrivers, etc. i got it at an auction years back, in a box of ???? that no one [including me] really knew what was in it, [but i suspected the box contained quite a few goodies, and i was right afterward] for five bucks. that little case has come in handy quite a few times over the years.
also, i have two, maybe three, "junkyard" boxes [the 8"wide x 8"tall x 20"long size with the handle on top] full of stuff that i don't care if something gets lost or broken, and a similar sized box that i used to carry when going to car shows when i had my 38 plymouth coupe.
not forgetting the four cabinets [13"deep x 15"tall x 29"wide] that are bolted together [two wide, two tall] and mounted at the top of the garage wall, containing specialty tools, like AC hose crimpers, hydraulic fitting crimpers, and things like that.
fabricating tools like welding clamps, c-clamps, benders, etc. are hung on rack supports, easily seen and grabbed when needed.
i also have a standard size top and bottom box full of all of my machinist tools. i'm afraid to guess what that box is worth, considering it consists of mostly quality name tools like starrett.
i don't consider myself a "snob", but i sure own a pile of tools i have obtained over my working time in life.
one of these days [?] i probably should take stock of what really is here. i'll bet it might be worth "a buck-two- ninety-eight", as my old man used to say........ biggrin

I have a variety of manufacturers tools, and all the tools I need except the missing 10mm socket.

Oldest tools I have are set of wrenchs from JC Pennney. around 1972 found them on a discount table 3/8 to 1 1/4. cost about $20. Very similar to Snap On. I used them offen.

for some reason, those 10mm sockets just seem to walk away, no matter how much you watch them !
maybe they should be sold by the dozen ? laugh2

It’s good cheap insurance. I bought one and haven’t needed it since. Lol.
