I don't want to assume the answer is no, because I'm not 100% sure...

Can a 68 or 69 dart Dart Sedan (post car) door be modified to fit a Hardtop car? Basically, can the upper frame be removed from the Sedan door and converted to fit the Hardtop car?

If so, what's involved?

If not, can the Sedan door "skin" or outer shell be be used to repair a damaged hardtop door?

Thank you.

You could probably convert the door shell itself but the window mechanism inside the door is totally different, don't know if it will bolt in or not. For sure you could use the outer sheet metal to repair a hardtop door. Don't forget that 67, 68, and 69-72 are unique to their years except for the outer skin. Helps to know what year you are working on...

Thank you Rhino, I'm working on a 2 door 1968 Hardtop. I NEED a clean driver's door and I'm struggling to find one locally. There's a set of 69 sedan doors a few hours away, but of course not exactly what I need.

Below are some photos of the post car doors that I'd like to use on my 68 Dart (2 door hardtop). Member Rhino believes the window mechanisms (regulators I'm assuming) are different inside between the two door styles.

Any A body guys know the answer to these questions?

1) Can the window framing be removed from these dart doors to convert to a hardtop car?

2) Can the quarter windows from a hardtop dart then be made to fit and function on these doors?

3) Will the main window regulator and glass from the hardtop bolt into these post doors and work?

Willing to modify these doors if it makes sense to do so. Any thoughts or info here?
