Wondering where others have drilled and tapped for a vacuum port on a big block Indy single plane intake. I'm thinking the crotch between the runners at the back of the plenum id too tight to get any sort of fitting in there. Photos if you have them.

Thanks,

If power brakes I would use one on the carb if available work
if for vacuum advance ported vacuum outlet on the carb up work

Thanks,

On my 3X I was going to drill and tap for an 1/8th NPT port under the carb pad either right or left. This was to log manifold vacuum.I was going to use a right angle -3 fitting and some -3 line to the sensor which is 1/8th NPT male. It could also be done on a 1" spacer, if you have the room. The sensor was going to be mounted off the engine. I still haven't got round to it as I realised I'd got the wrong sensor and we switched to a T/R a few years ago. It's way easier to pick a spot on a T/R though.

Not the Indy intake application that you are asking about, but on my W2 stroker and Victor I put one at the back under the carb base.

Some brands of carburetor spacers have tapped holes for fittings and/or a pvc port tube already in them. If your going to run a spacer of some type that may be an option?

Carb? What carb ?!? EFI !!!

Carb spacer ... uh-uh, ain't gonna happen.

The port is for 1) PCV and 2) MAP sensor

I think Diplomat360 has the answer ... looks like that spot will work on mine as well.

Diplomat360's location seems best to me.
For a brake booster, I'd locate it at the rear.

I only had a front photo of the motor - the port will be in the rear.

I drilled and tapped my Indy 4150 single plane where Diplomat360 shows his, I did mine 1/4" NPT with a 1/8" hose, just wanted to run a vaccum gauge.
