I'm thinking of selling my 1970 N code Cuda as I have found another car. Car has been sitting since 1982 in a garage. Previous owner blew up the 440 sitting in it. Car has minimal rust. Trunk has some pin holes, quarters minor bubbling down low, frame rails cowl fenders and doors are excellent. The top is in great shape. Optioned with PS, PDB ,Power top , Rallye gauges, A31 performance axle, has a 956 radiator. Car was FK5 with black interior but painted black in the late 70's. It has 15 ich rallye wheels and 4 speed from the factory. 1 of 68 cars made in this configuration. 18 spline trans restored, I have a 74 HP 440 short block needing build, new carpet, new Legendary seats. No build sheet or fender tag. I spoke to Dave Wise several times and had a tag made by him. Any guidance would be appreciated. Pics attached are how I found it.

It is a great starting point, and has some nice things going for it. As it sits my guess would be in the $30,000 to $40,000 range. Not many big block 4 sp convertibles where built.
Good luck with your sell and new purchase.

No build sheet or fender tag. I spoke to Dave Wise several times and had a tag made by him. You are saying he made a tag for a car with no original documentation to go on? Can you please elaborate?

No....original 383 long gone. A 440 was installed along with the 18 spline trans. Original drivetrain is MIA Since you don't have the original numbers tranny and no documentation is it possible the car could have come with a 3 spd manual? I assume you can see the original hump with original paint on the floor. Very cool project, numbers or not.

What would prompt the 3 speed question if I might ask? quote=jeff968] No....original 383 long gone. A 440 was installed along with the 18 spline trans. Well, if you know you are looking at a BS27N0B and it is an original manual transmission car but you don't have any documentation or matching numbers tranny both the 3spd and 4spd manuals were available and it could be either? You just don't know.

Thanks for the reply. Whats the known breakdown on 3 speed cars if its known?
In this case wouldnt you go by the odds on it being a 4 speed vs a semi oddball? Yea put a three speed in it and in 20 years it will be an org. three speed car, sad but true.

They only made 9 383 3spd convertibles! But on a car like this you hate to "guess". But with the documentation missing it is what it is.

I would of never guessed it would be that many even. Limited on ebody info most the 3 speeds I ran across and even had one were like 73 challengers. I really didnt mind the 3 speed oddly.
That car was talked about on here maybe a year ago.. maybe by the current owner. Same pics though.
