It offers a rack, which is nice, geometry is an unknown, likely lighter weight, a positive, better header clearance, but lacks like so many others, stoutness, no matter how well fabricated. [/quote

My stock K-member doesnt have a sway bar either so that's not a good indicator of use

If you say so.

Ohhhh I can guarantee there’s lighter….. but mine is definitely NOT FOR STREET USE smile

My car will be 95% street deal with the Hemi in it. It will see the track just to get a time on it. QA1 K comes with small block mounts and Schumacher does not offer a Hemi to small block A body mount. The QA1 also comes with a steering box mount and no brackets for a rack. I could cut the motor mount brackets off and weld brackets for a rack, but not sure where they go. HDK does not sell a K without everything else. QA1 does offer the whole front end in coil over, but then once again you really have to step up to the pay window on those. Was hoping to be able to put something together for under $2500, but does not look like its gonna be easy. Would really like to run the coil over set up with a rack. That would really open up some room for the headers and i could run the 2 1/4 tube header vs the 2 1/8. Thanks for all the info guys.

Also, looks like Tory Shellehamer does not build and sell these in piece meal either. There sold as a kit. His kit is a great bargain, but i dont want to spend 3500+ on this front end for a mostly street car.

Not trying to be a dyck, but if it's only going to be a street car, why worry about the big headers?

From what you describe, you need a Reilly front end, but those are in the same ballpark as the rest of them.

My car has a rack mounted into the front of the stock K, but still has torsion bars. I can't really recommend it for a street car though.

Speed costs money, how fast you wanna spend?

Yes, i agree. Im to the point of keeping the stock K and the manual gear box and possibly use the HDK torsion bar eliminator just to create some room for headers. The gentleman over on B bodies made over 850hp with the 2 1/8 header on his 572 Hemi. Thats plenty.

We've made that with a 1 3/4" header on spray! grin

Been seeing that lately. Seems those big headers are over rated.
