A couple years ago someone on here mentioned Castle Endura as the lube to use. I love it, but Amazon says its unavailable. I found a site and ordered some. I also saw Castle Big 5 on there and wondered what the differences are? I mainly use it for auto hinges and the Big 5 says to rub into the area. Sometimes that is hard to get to. One says silicone and one says grease, but would they both be good for hinges and lets say garage door springs and parts?

I too am a fan of Castle Endura. I had a devil of a time finding it and had to order it from Castle themselves. I look at it just like Frank's Hot Sauce, I use that $#@& on everything. And yes, I've used it on garage door springs.

But to your question, I have no idea what Castle Big 5 is or does. Looking at the Castle website, it appears to be a surface lube rather than a penetrating lube. First thing that comes to mind is a window regulator.

Castle Big 5

Big 5 is just as it states silicone spray, I have always sprayed it on rubber weather strips to keep them from sticking. Endura is a penetrate and congeals once exposed to atmosphere, Big 5 has no "Body" to it and simply makes what it touches slippery.

i tried the Castle endura and wasn't overly impressed with it. And yes I shook the can with a mechanical agitator. i have tried A lot of different ones over the years and found this to be pretty impressive up CRC Chain And Wire Rope Lubricant, 10 Wt Oz, Extreme Duty Synthetic Lubricant With Moly, Aerosol Spray
might find it cheaper locally shruggy beer
