I also posted this to FCBO. But this is an actual “WIW” forum.
I bought a 68 Monaco 500, a neat car, 440, some personalized trim on the car. Car itself is a rust bucket, but I was looking for some interior trim. The console is unrestored and in very good condition. I have a 67 Charger, slightly different console, but this one is better than mine. Zero cracks in the plastic. Plate is pretty good (zoom in on pics. Some wear.). Rear plate there with seatbelt attachments (non-bbody) and the armrest pad has not a crack in it. The best part, it has an original tach. Carpet is faded, but all there. Chargers came with tachs in the dash, otherwise I’d keep this for myself. Tach is also in good shape, minor crazes but no rust. I would be looking to sell this console complete (no shifter etc.). No lighter either but rear cap is in good shape.
What would be a reasonable range for this set up? I know when I was looking for a complete console for my 4sp Charger there just was hardly anything available.
For curiosity, this car had the original owner’s name and location on the exterior of the car- looks like a spot was there specifically for it. Does anyone know what this is about? I’d assume it’s a deal installed option, but matches the certicard. I’ve never seen one before.
Of course no one needs that much power.
But life is about WANTS! Not NEEDS!

Here is the original owner’s name right on the car. Matches certicard.

I had one from a 1968 Sport Fury at Carlisle, 2 years in a row.
Complete with tach, all wiring, shifter mechanism, floor mount brackets, complete except for the console door lock.
It got a lot of looks, but no takers at $450.00

That leaves a hole in the console lid, but it's silver painted so possible to fill. But still will hurt the console sale. I would think the 4 holes for the seat belt holders, padded console door, and the cigarette lighter type chrome end cap sort of hurt the B-body buyers?

Did you end up separating the tac? No, and I am not going too. The Fury version does not have a pad like the version above.

Somewhere around 1000.00 to 1500,00 if the Tach is a 4 wire

I believe the 66-67 B-body's have a pad. The only B body with a console arm rest pad is the 66-67 Charger. On the Monaco above, the tach is not. On the fender tag, so it was added to the car.

I thought he meant the spacer “pad” between the tach and console plate. Isn’t the 66 Charger console body different since it’s full length? I do realize the console doors w/arm rest pad interchange

The tach is a broadcast sheet item and window sticker.

Would the tach really be shown on the fender tag? I would think possibly on the build sheet, some interior option? [/quote] I believe it is on the fender tag at least on a 71 A body. Can't recall the code at the moment. Also I believe it's on there because of the hole in the firewall for the trigger wire. Others may say different ????

But doesn't always mean other models are the same in those years.

I wonder if the car came with the performance indicator like this...a lot of 68-69 C-bodies did and if so, perhaps back in the day, ol Jean the owner ,swapped it out for a tach he had because they are cooler to have. If that tach has this A-body only base it is a big ticket item as it would be from 68-9 Dart and tach would be 4 wire. Incorrect on the Dart years. The tach first came out in 1967. 1967 was also the first year of the four wire tach.

I was aware the A-body Dart tachs first appeared in 1967, in the 80's a good friend owned a super nice 67 383 GTS copper or bronze, cant remember correct color name, but it did have the factory console tach... ...next time I'll re-read my numbers before hitting 'send' I haven't owned as many Darts as some on here but I have owned a few A and B tachs .
