It wasn't huge, but it was a nice show with a swap meet. I miss that one.

I was only at the mopar nats once in 1990. Brice road was awesome also until the cops/helicopter broke it up.

I was at that MoPar Mats, I attended every year straight from 1985_2014. I usually took the Sport Fury up but that year I believe I drove my 76 Volare /6 with studded snow tires. The sparky burnouts were a big hit.

I believe that was the N.O.M.M that put on that show and still do but now out at the old Packard Proving Grounds.

Nice looking Charger..383 car?

Thank you.

318, ps/pb/ac.

It doesn't look very good anymore, it was painted with lacquer and the job totally failed many years ago but
it's next in line after the GTX and I hope to eventually get it looking better than ever.

I'm a little more confident after all the practice I got on the GTX over the past few years, it's going to be good to strip it and do it right.

Zippy.. what color are you gonna go with on the Charger? What is the factory original color?

It’s QQ1, I’m not planning on changing it.
The lacquer job was off slightly, the guy I bought it from said it was painted some kind of GM blue. Lucerne? Or something.

I may paint the roof as i am totally fed up with vinyl roofs and don’t want them anymore,
I like the contrasting color And have considered an “effect” white (with a blue pearl, for instance).

Yup... I've been to the Packard Proving grounds show, a handful of times...
To me though, just not the same, as back in the day, at the Chrysler Parts Depot parking lot.
Also miss the old VFW car show on Gratiot Ave. north of 10 mile. That used to be a great show, all makes and model's, but still a great time at that show every year! Can't forget about the old Street Machine Nationals at the fairgrounds off of 8 mile...good times!
I'm feeling really nostalgic..lol. laugh2

I was there somewhere! I always stayed somewhere on Brice Rd. thru 1991. Missed a few years and then started staying over at The airport at Hampton Inn. I was 32 years and a few weeks old at the 89 Nats....lol. Sold my Superbird to build a house and was too broke to fix my 70 Challenger A66 car. Dang, how time has flown!! shocked

That was the first year I went. 16 years old. My dad and I drove out in his brand new turbo caravan. I was on the hunt for parts for my first car, a farm rescued 69 Super Bee. Red,scoops 383 4 speed black bench car with no engine. I wanted to clone it into a six pack lift off hood car. So the first thing I bought was a real deal 69 aluminum six pack intake, think I paid $150! Bought a tach dash for my 70 340 swinger for $10! Good times. First fuel car I seen in person. I think Eddie Hill made a couple passes. Guys in the swap meet drunk fighting and screaming, seen a broken shaker hood bubble trying to be sold I think by the guy that was always shirtless in cut off jean shorts and army boots. Larry Sheppard selling out of the back of an old U Haul truck with a max wedge engine on a run stand open pipes lit up every ten minutes or so. At this point in my 16 year life this place was frikkin awesome! Still have the shirt somewhere! I have missed a few but I go every year now. More mellow crowd nowadays.

I was there. In fact, I've been to every Ohio Nats, as I live local and for 14 years worked for the NHRA at National Trail Raceway. I think '89 was the year I sold a 1-owner '69 Charger, white, black top/interior, 318, ac Nice car, really adjacent to perfect.

Ubly Dragway used to have Mopar's Against the World...all weekend drag racing, I doubt they still do
anymore, since Tom Ledford (former track manager) has been retired for quite awhile now.
The guy running the track now....= 💩 for brains

Went every year from 1993 until 2004. Took Da Bee every year except 2001 - 2004 took a race car those years. 2003 - 2004 took the 9.0 second 73 Cuda chassis car. Track prep was so bad I quit going after those years and decided to race only. Way more fun than setting in a show field all day.
