Just my OPINION based on my personal experiences, but... I think 4150s with down leg boosters will be easier to tune for that combination. FWIW, I'll be trying out a couple of different 4150 annular carbs in the future to see if I can get them to run as clean on the street and still perform well on the track as my "go to" 4150 down leg carb(s).

My racecar runs 24 hole annulars built by Lightning Racing carbs. Since I footbrake with a large plenum intake (Indy 440-25) they were suggested. The 60 ft be much more consistant. I've been very happy with them. Mark is great to work with. It's actually had 2 different pairs of main bodies. NMCA wouldn't allow me to run thr billet bodies. Dumb rule. It runs exactly the same with either set. Car has a 285/292@.050 cam. Idles fine at 900. Obviously no street driving . It drives fine in the pits and doesn't load up. https://www.facebook.com/lightningracingcarburetors/Doug

Still getting my 572 Hemi with Stage v heads together. Gonna run the Stage 2x4 intake with the carbs sideways. I have 2 850's with down leg boosters. Just curious of the latest tech with annular booster in a 4150 body? Street/strip deal with 12:1 compression and a 275@50 on 110 solid roller. All opinions welcomed. Well, I run a 1050AN Quickfuel on my engine. 493 stroker that is mostly street driven. Smallish SFT cam (259/266 duration @ .050). Lift is .627/.633. Track time is usually 4-6 times a year. No issues what so ever with the carb. Nice throttle response, runs clean. NO issues with tuning. Just my 2 cents.
4 speed street legal. Best time 10.99 @ 124 mph on 93 octane pump gas @ 3926# total weight

There are some interesting tech articles on Pro-systems website. I think where the annular shines is in a larger carb with lower vacuum signal applications. https://www.prosystemsracing.com/choosing-a-carb-size/

If it’s pump gas then for certain you want a GOOD annular booster. They ain’t all the same. Call Mark Whitner at Lightning Racing Carbs and buy your boosters from him. He makes the best AB’s out there and the second best isnt even close.
Just because you think it won't make it true. Horsepower is KING. To dispute this is stupid. C. Alston
