Are you satisfied with the results? Can't speak to the long-term durability of the finish, but it all looks for having just been done

The total for doing all four wheels was $660. I compare that to what I see "refinished" used wheels going for ($600-800) and the cheapest I could find a set of OEM take-offs ($2500) and figure it's worth trying. Hard to figure a cost per wheel in terms of actual effort by the guy doing to the work, since he was here for about 6 hours and spent more than the first 2 hours working on the worst of the four.

Looks like they did a really nice job on it! Thanks. I had marked each wheel's scratches / nicks / etc w/ masking tape so I could track the work being done. Here are two other finished wheels and the last one while still being worked on.

I've had very good experiences ... We have an outfit named 'Elite Wheels of Albany' that refinishes most any type of rim including club rash damage. They specialize in aluminum rims - www.eliteofalbany.comThey have earned a good reputation, they recently offered a $599 for 4 aluminum rims with a 24 hour turn-around - I don't think that includes significant curb damage. I've only used them to strip and refinish my magnesium rims, very minor corrections needed. They did one set of 4 rims finished in enamel, which cost $99 each rim, took 3 weeks. Then I had them do another set of magnesium rims in epoxy for $660 total, took 6 weeks. They are now working on a set of 4 + 1 spare, epoxy. I don't really care how long it takes, I don't need them til spring. Magnesium is a delicate metal to work with, especially old rims with a lot of exposure to contaminants. It takes special prep, sealants, primers to get it right. They've done a nice job on mine. - Art
