Well, honestly, for $125K, I can get a Hellcat Redeye that I can drive and will run circles around this car. Yeah, I know, this Bee is a piece of history, draws a bigger crowd at the car show, etc. But eventually, dragging this Bee to every car show so you can sit in the sun and let every know-it-all tell you all about it and then take it home to clean off all the grimy fingerprints, gets pretty old. Investment? Maybe, but as mentioned here, not always. Still yes, beautiful car.

each person has a different way to look at it. I personally have zero interest in any modern car. As a result I try to drive vintage Mopars all the time unless when there is salt on the road. So I have two daily driver RRs and then some survivors and a couple of genuine Hemi cars that I drive to shows/meetings a lot. But the events are slightly different to the US. Less sitting behind the car more walking around and talking with other car buddies. Carsten

To each his own, but for me, it's like not analyzing a business transaction. A Rembrandt vs. a new picture generated by artificial intelligence. They can both hang on the wall and look good, but they are not the same.

Car looked like it had quarters and so much more wrong!! Saw it in a collection with a few other roaches!! Spent 20 min there and was a little shocked if u didn't see these cars in person!! Every car needed to be restored again, if people call this show cars, they are clueless!! Then again that's what dealers and flippers sell...

On my monitor, it looks more like Lemon Twist than Y2 yellow...and Lemon Twist wasn't a '69 color. I could be wrong - didn't see the auction - but the color could be a factor. From what I can tell from the photos , though, it's pretty stunning. My thoughts exactly! If the color is off it will def. hold it back. KID

Its' a broad range, but somewhere between those 2 figures. There are not a lot of Hemi Super Bees changing hands, so comps are harder to come by. And the condition matters, Was it a rusted out hulk with all AMD panels, or all original sheet metal? Any ghosts in the closet? Like "numbers matching" with a restamped block? That stuff affects value a lot. This, ^^^ After having been to Barrett Jackson this past Jan. Some of these cars dont look near as nice as the camera makes them appear to be. This, ^^^ I have driven many cars across the auction stage at both Mecum and Barret Jackson. There are a lot of cars that look good with a camera shot but close up are far from it. ⬆🎯I can't remember the number of Platinum, Gold, Certified, Authenticated, BS nut and bolt resto's that took anywhere from 20 to 150K to straighten out. I could write a book on them

Damn flippers..... does anyone really want a car to keep and drive??? You got 180K and willing to spend on it? Ya, me neither. Priced right out of 99% of car guys budgets The way to own one today was to have bought it 25++ years ago and hold on to it.

....... but those guys sold off in one of the price upswings and they are the ones crying the loudest that they are priced out of the hobby

It states restoration done 2014-2017 so it’s been repainted since first resto. That don’t look like Y2 but any stretch. Look at the background, the color of the photos is OK.
I remember it 8-10 owners ago when it was still original paint. Should have stayed that way. An overzealous guy stripped it to bare metal and sold it. Sad life for it now, just a pawn in the big game. Just sad it was an original paint car at one time, it could have been a survivor car?

Could it have been survivor, no. Prior owner was going to make race car I believe. Thank goodness progress was slow going and that’s when I intervened. He had a ‘70 Bee for sale that I bought from him and a few months later ended up with this 69…. I find it funny reading many of these comments and unless this superbee was involved in some sort of disaster I see no reason this car was restored/painted a 2nd time in such a short timeframe…..I’ve included a couple pictures from 2001 the day I bought it home along with a few others, sold 2005. Do I regret selling ? Well yes, but I’ve had many very rare cars and regretted selling most all of them. This one being a post, hemi, bench seat, 4spd, 4:10 gears….. what’s not to like. Problem is once a car like this is restored at this level, I could not drive around like the hemi R/T that was original paint # car. The r/t just blended in and drove like a luxury car, most didn’t even notice fender emblems. That was my summer time daily driver for years. Superbee was different story, couldn’t leave it alone. Today I drive a f150 rcsb 5.0 4x4, is it the same as the old muscle cars, no. But I can tow my boat, travel trailer carry materials and it’s just as quick as any stock or lightly modified old muscle car….. times and priorities change 🤙

Could it have been a survivor? Yes. Beebezzn got it when it was about 32 years old, and the paint stripping and tear down was done. Two owners before that it was a survivor with original paint and a spun rod bearing.
