Being able to use a cheap distributor, if a guy choses to, makes a big difference if you start adding up the costs. If you are buying a new damper anyway, it's $145 extra to add the magnets. A trigger is $120, a bracket is $145. So $420 + the distributor. A new MSD Probillet dist. is $440. So In this instance, it seems the crank trigger is the way to go.

And we know how cheap you can be…

Since you have a shelf full of distributors, you should use the cable driven tach unit, BUT, there better be a cable driven tach hooked up to it… would fit the look, and old school vibe the Coupe has. Just remember to pack a spare, since you have plenty.

We just braket race. I do have a 150 shot on it for those times when I feel like it's not going to run the number. our engine is 11.2 to 1 with aluminum heads and only 34 degrees of timing. on alcohol. Maybe if I ever build my W7 engine I might consider a crank trigger and belt drive. This current engine is a stock block 421" with Rod Bloomer heads.
