'While music is timeless and age is nothing but a number, Mick Jagger is 80, Ron Wood is 76 and Keith Richards is 79.

These men know their audience.

AARP, formerly known as the American Association of Retired Persons, is the tour’s sponsor.

If that isn’t enough, AARP members will have access to presale starting Nov. 29, which begins at 10 a.m. local time and will conclude on Nov. 30 at 10 p.m. local time. There is an eight-ticket limit

I think they better add a lot of extra handicap parking for the shows.

Reality check, that half the population is smarter then 50% of the people and it's a constantly contested fact.

I'm 72 now - a number I still can't believe and refuse to acknowledge - so I was around when the Stones debuted.
It's kinda mind-boggling that they're - well, Mick & Keith - still at it, especially with the, uh, "adventures" they indulged in.

I'm not a stones fan but I admire their achievements.

What I do admire is some groups like stones, Aerosmith, and a small few others are still doing it for the love of it.
It shows in their passion, it isn't a job to them its their passon. They are having fun still.

Maybe they can get depends to cosponsor. Lol

Makes me wonder which acts keep touring because they want to--and which acts do it because they have to.

With the proliferation of digital media, a lot of them don't hardly make any money on record sales or royalties anymore. So they have to sell tickets to pay the bills.

Also why concert tickets are so much more expensive than they used to be. In the old days bands used to tour to promote their new album sales. Now its the other way around.

Not sure the Stones fall into the "have to" group--I'd say Mick and the boys are still loaded.

Shows are from 2pm to 4pm so you can still get the senior discounts at cracker barrel.

The personal rush gained from a live audience can only be achieved when on stage, it's an addiction. and why those with declining popularity have such a tough time adjusting.

Our addiction for many here is a Mopar V8, just not as lucrative.

I'm more interested in that tonight is KISS's last concert at Madison Square Garden. I hope it gets filmed, maybe come out on a blu-ray in a few years.
But yeah, local radio is advertising the 'Stones brought to you by AARP. Definitely chuckle-worthy. Who's their next sponser? Metamucil?? laugh2

I really wonder how many people really know what the acronym AARP stands for? Pretty clever how they stopped using what it means years ago so you didn't know it was for OLD RETIRED or close to retired people. And it used to be only for 50 or 55 and over old farts. My wife just said there appears to no age limit to join now. Ask some young person or even older person what AARP means........you'll probably get an answer after they quickly google it laugh2

While I find the AARP sponsorship hilarious, Jagger at 80 is probably in better condition physically than most 40 year olds.

Keith Richards has looked dead for 30 years but keeps going.

I'm still not convinced that this is KISS' final tour.

I have worked with the Stones a number of times in the past. One show (Voodoo) I was contracted to provide power and distribution for the backstage areas. One stipulation they had was EVERYTHING that consumed power be on its own separate circuit. At our first onsite production meeting when that requirement came up, I mentioned that might become rather expensive. Their response was, "We are making $3,000,000 at this show, do you think we care?"
You only have to tell me once.
That show was at the old Orange Bowl in Miami, we provided backstage power in the area of 2800 amps 120/208V 3 phase, for catering, trailers, guitar tuners, pinball machines, hair dryers, etc.

In England they are running this medical project called the “UK BioBank” where 500,000 citizens have had all of their genes decoded along with past medical records and extensive exams.

If Keith Richards would volunteer it would be “a gift to humanity” to get some idea of how he has remained alive.

His system is so toxic that there's no diseases that can survive it.

The Dennis Leary bit about waiting for Keith to die and smoke his ashes comes to mind.

The tour should be called the walking dead tour, Have a casket manufacture sponsor it. Didn't Kiss have there last farewell tour 20 years ago? Kiss is not Kiss with out Ace Frehley!
