Depends on the condition? $1,000 doesn't go very far these days.

Depends on what your car is and what you have on it
already... whats the intended purpose

It is relative to what you already have. If you are not very far along in the process of building a high end car; the converter is typically your most bang for the buck. Yes Nitrous is great and you will go fast but if you don't have the chassis to handle it or the bottom end of the engine you may not be able to hook the car or in the case of the engine run it for long.
The best money I have spent lately was a complete set of AFCO shocks followed closely by a set of 1 7/8 Heddman headers. The reason for the headers is more for maintenance than for the power I picked up. I can take the headers completely out of the vehicle with the engine and tranny in the car. However taking the header off completely makes taking the tranny out very easy.

Ok, this is my vote for sure, not for the car but for the trailer, a quiet generator like this one.

Two things both were a 1000 bucks.

1 a Pro Systems carb

2 ATI torq converter

Each were well worth the money.
