The Ti valves are critical, but we still don't know the spring pressures or anything about the lifters.

I think the pertinent question is: What kind of hydraulic lifter can handle that kind of spring pressure ?
RPM be dammed, it's spring pressure.

Haven't had problems with spring pressure/rpm on LS stuff but why that is compared to Mopar I'm not sure.

If it's due to the lifter losing alignment with the oil gallery (so loses input oil pressure at some point) maybe a limited travel lifter would work better.

I've also read that Kaase runs hydraulics nearly bottomed out though that seems risky if they have full travel and there was a loss of control.

This engine is using the same @.050 cam duration as my old 10.5 508/Stage V head motor which was really mild and had great torque but it felt "all done" at about 5300-5500, (much smaller head on mine) but it was a near perfect street bruiser....especially in a heavy B body.

The TF 270's look to flow really close (but maybe a bit less particularly in the .400-.600) than the Chapman stage VI Max wedges (Dwayne Fast68 actually put on his bench) I run on my 11.3:1 517 low deck with a really well-ported 337 intake.

Before this I ran a self-ported Indy dual plane....which on this magazine motor might work even better and make even more mid range torque.

But my cam is a Bullet Hydraulic roller that is 264/268 ~.590/.580 lift and my motor has no problem AT ALL revving past 6500 and has occasionally hit 7000-7200 without any issues, in fact it feels like it loves to rev up there. But I run the old Crane lifters and billet (w2 style) pedestal rockers which i feel are more stable than the cast in pedestals, especially at higher crank speeds.

I think in my particular combo the mid lifts work really well and the torque doesn't really drop off (which is what drags the HP curve down) so it might be just a function of the low bobweight and relatively light valvetrain combined with the really good flowing heads, above 5500 it doesn't feel like any other BB wedge I ever built or driven, feels more to me like a W2 or even a hemi from behind the wheel. Other than 451's it's the first stroker low deck I ever built, I'm sure the shorter deck and The RB (since its a Stage VI on a low deck) intake might have more to do with it.

That said, my motor would feel even more at home at high RPM in a lighter car that handles a bit better than a 53 year old b body!

But since I've been wanting to take a little bit of cam out of this one I don't think dropping about 12-14 degrees of duration I would be missing that last 500 of RPM if I can keep the average torque numbers above 600 (like this one), I would just shift the RPM band down about 600-800.

Streetwize,
Are those the old 68532 Crane lifters, the 8620 billet retrofit lifters ?

That number sounds right...off hand but don't quote me. It was over 20 years ago when I built it!

I know Crane stopped making them and superseded them with another (probably cheaper) replacement that became problematic.
