Neat car as originally spec'ed . black painted top, luggage rack, Super Trak Pak, 4 spd.
Was dash replaced at some point? Looks like rivets holding VIN plate on. Tag appears original.
As is condition, assuming it's pretty much rust free, and won't take much to get roadworthy I'll kick in a WIW of $40K. Do you have the original hood or any other parts?

What do you guys think the fender flare does to value? Benefit! I'd add wide Cragar SS wheels and some fat Mickey Ts and call it awesome!

Running and driving, $40k and I have two buyers lined up for it. Yeah, I bet there are 2 buyers lined up for it a 40K! I bet there are a whole lot more! Hell, I'd be in line at $40K! I'm thinking a bit higher. I wouldn't be surprised by 60s or 70s. Sorry, a running driving E body 4 spd Dana U code? Yeah, a lot more than 40.

Serious question- What would this car bring if it was restored to OE Gold level status by some bored money-is-no-object collector? -1 No buildsheet because LA assembly -2 Wrong block Would it hit 6 figures?

Agreed. may have change the pad when it was restored. If all else is there minus t the build sheet, I'd pop the windshield a nd fix that issue lickety split. Fender flares gotta go IMO Just and FYI: That steering wheel thing is useless, a hacksaw will go right through that wheel in less than a minute.

The math on this stuff is kinda perverse. Go shopping with 90-100k and you can get some really sweet stuff. Cars with way more than that spent on them.
Take a car like this. It will take metric tons of money to restore. Yet I can see a guy that wants one ponying up 50-55k, despite the fact it would be waayyy cheaper to buy the 90k car already done. But maybe that guy will enjoy it as is with some tlc and general clean up.
It’d be worth spending the time or paying the money to get the paint looking the best it can, and probably some tires. Anything you can do to make it a real driver will bring out the wallets. Videos are a must these days, that’s just the expectation now.
I want my fair share
