Haven't touched the car all year until a couple of days ago...

It's loads of fun trying to find parts and tools that are still in hiding somewhere after the extensive water damage the house had last year. I own two (2) oil pump priming tools and can't find either of them. They're probably right next to the throttle cable bracket that also disappeared; lucky that I stumbled across one from AR Engineering that I didn't remember having.

Gonna use a Braswell drop-base air cleaner assembly; mocked up the hood to check clearance with no spacer installed

Car is up on jack stands now since I've been doing stuff that requires being under the car. I let it sit on the tires for too long and appear to have flat-spotted my new M&H front radial skinnies... grrrr

Even though I've been second-guessing my decision to have the T/A scoop modified for an additional 1-1/2" clearance, it may be growing on me.

Looking good, if your front tires aren't ancient I wouldn't worry about the flat spot. Once the tire warms up I bet it goes away just fine. If the tires are old you should replace them anyways though.

No, not (that) old. I'm hoping this is a case where -- like you said -- the issue will go away when the tire(s) reach operating temp. luck

I'm waiting for all the unexpected sh!t to pop up when it's finally running again... oil leaks (engine? trans? diff? take your pick) ... brakes failure... electrical issues... all the fun stuff

As long as it's not trying to imitate the Exxon Valdez, the first place it needs to go is somewhere yet determined to get the front end aligned after having replaced just about everything but the LCAs, and even they got new bushings

Looking good. I almost went with the same hood until I decided to build my Shaker for my Challenger.

^^^ There is a solid 1"+ clearance above that air cleaner with the modified hood scoop. I wasn't sure the Victor heads and TF (or Victor) intake would be able to use a decently sized air cleaner and still have room under the standard T/A scoop, plus I wanted the option to try different spacers knowing how the engine responded to them on the dyno. Big ugly scoop means room for adequate air cleaner system and ability to run at least a 1" spacer, too.

BLOCK OFF the lower part of that scoop, the "good" air is 2" above the hood surface. That will also help cut down the drag since the opening is so large

I’m digging that Barry Grant carb. After reading all your testing, I wound up buying one for myself.

Thx; I figured BG has been out of business long enough that I can just say it stands for Brad's Garage now

This was SUPPOSED to be the "It's running again!" post. Unfortunately, when we thought it was ready to fire up late this afternoon, we got slapped down by a couple of electrical issues and a coolant system leak.

Probably won't get a chance to get back into the garage until Sunday, so now I'm luck the problems get resolved and actual fire-up happens before I gotta go back to work on Monday.

Can't get it to start and stay running. Effed with carbs, swapped plugs, messed with timing... not sure where timing is right now, since I can't put a light on it since it's not running. Pi$$er...

Mike Hynes and I are wondering if we wired the Crane HI-6 box differently than it was before. I gotta find the instructions and see if we jacked it up somewhere. whistling
