Original paint, minimal rust/damage with a /6 and column shift.

What is a realistic price for a car like this now a days? Maybe $5000-ish?

Pretty solid car so I think the asking price is about right and $5k would be a real nice buy.

Gotta love when people can't clean the entire speedometer/odometer lens and just wipe their finger across the odometer readout. Too much work to clean the whole cover.

I'm 4 miles from Sandpoint - never seen that car or the others in the background.
I do hear about "Mopar stashes" in the area, but have yet to see one.
$5,000 would seem a pretty normal price for that car nowadays, if Bahama is your thing.
A couple days of cleaning & polishing would likely help the seller present the car a bit closer to his asking price, but $7900 is too strong IMO.

i am not really a A body person.
but in my opinion a almost rust free car would pull near $10K in the rust belt area.
being a slant 6 car would make a perfect blank canvass for your 410ci small block sleeper build on a budget due to almost no body work needed.

$8K all day in the midwest. People will try and lowball him because of the shipping cost to get it to wherever they are, Idaho is not a well-travelled area. Think of the savings in bodywork though... work

Good discussion guys, thanks!

I've been sorta looking for a beater car that I can throw a 440 in and take to the track or just take downtown to get ice cream. I don't plan on doing any body work to the car I get, just drive it as is. I have a few cars that have not been restored and I find that I enjoy driving them more than the restored cars I have.

Not being in a rust prone area the cars are a little cheaper here. Recently there was an almost identical, '70 Duster, same color and condition with a spare small block and a new Twister grill, for sale for $8900. It was for sale for a very long time. Don't know if it sold or if they just didn't renew the ad.

This could be a fun car if the pictures do it justice.

I'm still living in the past as well. It just doesn't seem that long ago when this would have been a $700 car. Times change and I don't seem to be keeping up very well!! smile

With Ma mopar who knows, maybe a line shortage, tow package (wouldn't think so with a 6 BUT????) might also have been swapped at some point and that's all that was available shruggy

Hey, the car is 52 years old - rearend could have been swapped in at some point.
It's kinda funny that people assume that what they see now is the way the car was built.
The weak rear may have been cured with an upgrade, or maybe it was built that way; without a paper trail, it'll probably remain a mystery.
Back in the day, #s and such didn't matter.

He probably killed two 7-1/4"s and got tired of doing it, so in went the 8-3/4. I had a 68 Dart convertible with a 318 and 727 with an 8-3/4 because it had a tow package. Luckily I had a broadcast sheet to prove it...

Quality transport is a real issue up here, being off the beaten path.
Last car I bought & had hauled took 2 months to get to me from the Southeast.
The most recent car - 2+ years ago - we just did it ourselves to SD & back; same $, 5 days, better result.

Since then, I've finally found a good guy.

Today, you couldn't find a complete nice original Shark Tooth grille for under $700 bucks
This particular Duster in my area..(MI) is $8-10k all day, if it's as stated in the ad.
