I have been having priming issues with my dual line system. Takes a lot of drill speed and time to pull oil from pan initially. After sitting for a month, even the 3 qt accumulate prime didn't get it going. My pan to pump hoses were both low from pan to pump. I had to route the front (2nd) line under the pump due to the fuel injection pump being in the way. I checked the pump, and rotor to cover clearance is .004, gears look good, no serious scratches in the cover or pump body. I am going to check on ways to raise both intake lines up, so they can't drain back so easily. Any other thoughts? These are new lines and fittings.

I can't tell from the pics you posted how you have the lines routed from the oil filter adapter to the engine. Any better pics?

Install check valves in each line and route them any way you like.

Sean, both lines never get above their pump entrance. So I am thinking I need to change that.

I have a hoop in mine, never any issues. I also have an Accusump which I also use as a primer as well.

I'm going to route the line on my new motor from my 3 quart Accusump into the pressure line going back to the block from my remote mounted oil filter off of the Milidon oil pup coverwork wrench up scope

I use a dual line setup, my fittings on the pickup point upward. Additionally I have a high in the lines ( think of an upside down P trap to) keep the oil from migrating back to the pan. 70wgt doesn't like to move very fast...especially when temps are in the 60's in the AM. Ill take some pics tonight if you like.

I don't understand, unless the pump and all upstream is 100% leak proof (by design they can't be), why simple siphon will not over time simply empty the oil lines no matter how they are run, with the pickup always being the lowest point when not using any check valve?

You are at the maximum clearance suggested by Milodon.

They suggest .0015” - .004”.

It was proven many years ago that the biggest contributing factor in loss of prime and/or delay to prime is face clearance.

Rotor to rotor and outer rotor to bore contribute to this but at a lessor amount.

I have that setup, that way, Cab
I bought longer line today to put an upward hoop in each line. I hope that fixes it!

Why not be extra safe and just put a full loop in it?

I looped both of mine up high next to block (higher than pump) and always had pressure immediately starting after setting all week.

perfectly clear.
Now explain how that cannot siphon.

This and using oneway check valves per Statons suggestion looks like the most bullet proof deal, as long as those checkvalves flow plenty. The problem is, only double male ended check valves are available for the right flow direction, so s swivel union , female to female, is needed to make it all work.

Then when using check valve (s), hose routing is still superfluous, unless one empties or inverts the oil pan.

My lines routed. Added heat sleeve due to how close to the headers tubes it gets.

I’ll be using the Teflon hose on mine, never rots inside, check valves might work but that is a lot of fittings to break or leak, how well will it flow around that ball?

Good question. I would be worried with only a a single system
