Praying that he gets better. He really is an encyclopedia of cars and trucks. I wonder if he contacted that virus while he was going threw old cars? Who knows what is in those cars. Mold, mildew etc.
Could be. Mosquitos are spreaders, so maybe a bite.
A friend of mine got encephalitis a little over a year ago and had much the same symptoms and brain infection. The doctors brought him back from it very slowly to give him a better chance to being normal for him, or as close to it as possible. One of his symptoms was instant dementia, that had him doing all kinds of crazy things. He spent 2 months in the hospital and rehab, then got to come home. He has a little short term memory loss, but is otherwise fine. He is in his 70's, so he is a little older than Steve. Hopefully, Steve will have an equally good outcome. His friend from B-J who made the first video said the best thing we can do for him is go to You Tube and watch, and hit the Like button on his videos. That's how he makes his living, so doing that for him will surely help.

Steve and I have talked a bunch over the years since he is an A-body guy, and his penchant for building cool plastic car models. Hopefully he will recover fully and not lose any of that knowledge he has gained over the years...
The funny thing about science is that if you change one miniscule parameter you change the entire outcome to the way you want it.

Lots of mosquitoes in those New England junkyards, I know this for a fact. Triple E has become a threat in our area for the last 10 years or so.

having owned a junkyard in the past, there is/are all kinds of bad stuff hiding in those vehicles out in the yard, and lots unseen. and i don't mean those "things" that bite and sting. Steve holds a special place in my heart, just because of the junkyard connection we share. i too, hope he recovers fully.

Hoovie's Garage if filling in for Steve at the Inaugural New Orleans Barrett Jackson Show , and doing a nice Job so far . Get better Steve .
Hoovie filled in for him on a 'Junkyard Crawl' too. Hoovie emphasized he's not Steve, especially in automotive knowledge, but I thought he did a pretty good job covering what he does know (Mercedes). If you notice, it's on Steve's channel not Hoovies......
Last I heard, he was getting better, but there was no elaboration as to cause or remedy. He's a super-nice and unpretentious guy, and an asset to the hobby - hope he pulls through in fine shape.

Don't forget to subscribe to his channel helps, and he has lots of great videos. He can sure mod and build models at record time too. I am sure all the little amounts he gets on clicks add up. His med bills must be unrealistic to try and pay.
